this was an interesting and engaging way of revisiting this moment in history, through such a broad range on now notable eyewitnesses. It instilled a greater empathy for all those caught up in this human tragedy across all the nation's it touched.

I liked the idea, but it was too easy, was only foxed once by American spelling throwing me. Degrees of difficulty would add more challenge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great activity book, 29 Jan. 2013

This is a really well made and thought through activity book of good quality. My son loved the multi function spy glass, and I bought it for an very long car journey and it held his attention for ages, there was so much to find, fiddle with and variety within it, it really appealed to him. Having done it, he did not return to it for a long time, but it has longevity for next summers road trip and with other children, as it's very durable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic little book of lessons for life, 29 Jan. 2013

This book has really struck a chord with my 6/7 year old, and he asks for it nearly every night. It is so simple, but something about the little character tales have conveyed messages to him that endless, nagging/lecturing and glazed expressions from him never got close. I have really noticed a difference in him, I found it at just the right time in his development perhaps, but when he talks about wanting something or wanting to spend his pocket money, I can mention Goob and needing to plan, and it rings a bell for him, and he gets it. He rarely moans about being bored as I have never tolerated it, but when we read the story about Sammy squirrel and it being his responsibility to make fun for himself, it just clicked, he nodded quietly and accepted this with real maturity. It's just a great way of showing your kids things in their language that sinks in, then he asks the questions and listens to the answers and I don't feel like I am going on at him to no avail!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Utterly wonderful, 29 Jan. 2013

This is a wonderful little movie. The book was touching, the film just as much so, it's a heatwarming little tale, and the animations are gorgeous. So beautifully done and enjoyed by both my boys (7 and 3) though the younger one particularly. It is only 20 minutes long, but I like that, it is a good length of time for a little person to be watching TV. It is a very calm and soothing little tale, with a soft male voice and ideal for a bit of a wind down. Really well made, would recommend it to anyone with a pre schooler.

3.0 out of 5 stars A great idea, 29 Jan. 2013

This is a great idea, and my boys have had a lot of fun with it, and played with it together brilliantly. There is a very annoying beat box thing in the middle, which is unbearable and you cannot turn it off, or down, and of course my 3 year old pumps it constantly. I also expected the headphones to mute it, so he could 'enjoy' it on his own, but they don't, so it tends to be something they do in another room! It's a great idea, just needs some adjustment!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book for all ages, 29 Jan. 2013

As with You choose, this book is a hit with both my boys aged 3 and 7, and they both love it, we sit and talk and choose, and laugh about it over and over, and it will be as well worn and You choose soon, it has such appeal. As a teacher I can't wait to use it in the classroom to get some literacy going, it's a great starter for KS1 writing, and for boys as well as girls.

5.0 out of 5 stars A touching little story, 29 Jan. 2013

This review is from: Eric (Hardcover)
This is a touching little story, it explores, kindness, patience and understanding and in a tender way tells children how still waters run deep, and someone quiet and shy can have so much heart. The illustrations are wonderful, I loved the colour Eric brought at the end. My son remarked particularly on the illustrations. A touching and profound message well told.
