Ahh, balls out rock, there's nothing like it. Like Pulled Apart By Horses? You'll love this. Album of the year contender no question. Top draw.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, 9 Oct. 2012
This review is from: Other People's Problems (Audio CD)
Breath takingingly fresh sounding album that leaves indie schmindie also rans and its wake. Even without some of their fine early receordings (of which there are very many) Breton have still crafted a flawless long player that must be a top 3 contender for album of the year. Utterly stunning. And they're British!

5.0 out of 5 stars Album of the year 2012, 9 Oct. 2012
This review is from: Votive Life (Audio CD)
I know its only october but I dont care, I cant see anyone topping this for album of the year 2012. A warm, thoughtful and rich sound that will demand you listen to it again and again. For fans of The Antlers, The Maccabees or Alt-J, this is an utterly compelling music, that even without earlier top tracks such as Midnight Love and Light Show this is still top draw stuff. A British band to be proud of.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unsing Hero, 9 Oct. 2012
Suffice it to say if Mr Boulet received the same kind of exposure that, for example, Of Monsters And Men did, he would find people dispensing all kinds of adulation on his whacky, inventive, percussion heavy music. Upbeat, catchy and completely loveable, this guy is an unsung hero of indie music. Such a shame that he isnt more well known. I pray for music lovers everywhere that he gets the credit he deserves. A sure fire contender for album of the year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome to the new world, 9 Oct. 2012
This review is from: The Money Store (Audio CD)
Death Grips are dragging us to a new sound, you may be a little scared but dont be, your in safe hands.

A recent review in a music mag stated the sound will 'Alienate the listener'. Couldnt disagree more, arent we tired of the same old same old? Especially where tired Hip-Hop cliches are concerned. So wake up and smell the beats my friend, DG's may not give you a big cuddle, but this is intelligent awe-inspiring music that leaves the competition for dead.

Embrace it. Love it. Get used to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wowza!, 9 Oct. 2012
I didnt know what to expect from this at all. In short it blew me away, easily one of the most innovative and bold albums of 2012 and surely a shortlister for album of the year. Awesome.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rick Astley B-Sides?, 9 Oct. 2012
This review is from: Pacifica (Audio CD)
This is the sound of a band who have abandoned their scruples in favour of a cynical attempt to get radio play.

How can this be the same outfit that produced one of my fav tracks of all time in 'Are you the one'?!.
This is so bad I can barely believe it, easily the most radical shift in style I have ever heard in a band.

From dark electro pounding they have produced a selection of songs that sound like forgotten Rick Astley B-sides - the singer really does sound like Astley too! When they do attempt to beef things up they basically bottle it and it all slopes off with a whimper.

This is truly horrendous stuff, worst album of 2012 by a country mile.

2.0 out of 5 stars Been done before, 17 Dec. 2011
This review is from: Vices & Virtues (Audio CD)
Surely the only way to enjoy this is A) If your in 2001 and you've been busy telling all your mates that Sum 41 are 'Gonna be massive' or B) Your a 13 year old American boy named 'Brandon' or possibly 'Tyler'.

This woeful exibit retreads old ground covered previously by themselves and countless other bands a million times before. Mona Lisa is a good song, the rest is teeny rock by numbers floppy cock rock.

Avoid.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor show, 19 Oct. 2011
This review is from: Money And Celebrity (Audio CD)
After the surprisingly rocktastic effort 'All or nothing' last time out, Subways have now found themselves without new ideas and seeming rather clueless. The lyrics are corny throughout and almost embarassing at times. The riff on Celebrity is a blatant rip off of Helicopter by Bloc Party and all in all this is a crushingly dissapointing album from a once exciting and credible band.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dull as dishwater, 3 Sept. 2011
This review is from: ZONOSCOPE (Audio CD)
Unoriginal, dated and boring, compared to the likes of Is Tropical, LCMDF, We are Machines etc this album sounds a few steps off the pace. Mix it up more boys.
