A fascinating book about a forgotten but hugely entertaining figure. Very well researched and written, this book is about much more than mountaineering and tourism and gives a real insight into the period.

2.0 out of 5 stars The information is there but its not easy or pleasurable to find it - so poorly designed as to be almost unuseable, 7 Nov. 2013

A 'visual guide' put together by someone with no visual sense. This book is very poorly designed and has no index or contents list. Yes, its a good idea to show screen view-type information but not if the book design is as basic as this one. Essentially it's impossible to navigate unless you really want to follow the author blindly. It's one of the ugliest books I've ever come across so why would I use to help me create a website that I want to look slick and beautiful? Sorry but this is not a book for anyone with any sort of visual sense.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clear, attractive, well written, 7 Nov. 2013

This is a genuinely helpful and easy to use guide written by someone who understands visuals and values aesthetics - rare in the world of tech guides. I pulled together a professional looking blog site in a day and now want to go on to a more functional full website.
Particularly good for creatives or anyone who cares about visual aspects of the website.
