TIRED OF SLOW WIRELESS? PROBLEM SOLVED!, 30 Mar. 2010
I have a mate in work that recommended these, as I have a PS3 downstairs - but the wireless signal is very poor. I could have moved the PC around so the router is closer and hook it up with a ethernet cable for a great connect, but that was just inconvenient as i like to work in my spare room and space downstairs is limited.
When I seen the price - i was put off, but eventually gave up and decided to go with this so that I could play games online without lag, stream stuff from my pc etc without lag.
These are REALLY simple to install (which is a good job, as there are no real instructions) I will advise buying the 2 pack, otherwise it is pointless. You plug one of the Adapters in by your router and connect it with an ethernet cable provided which goes into slot 2 of the router, or whatever slot you have available. You take the second one downstairs (or where ever you want the wired connection) plug it in the nearest socket (you will need to buy ethernet cable that is the right length) then take your new ethernet cable, plug it in the socket that is in the wall and the other end in the PS3/ Device. Hey Presto - problem solved, a direct connection to the internet that can stream HD films from PC to PS3 etc. Last but not least, you don't lose that socket, as there is a faceplate on the front to plus something into, so it frees up the socket...
If you have any questions - please let me know.
Things you need to consider before buying:
You need to buy an additional ethernet cable, as they only supply 1 with the sockets. Make sure it is to the required length.
