4.0 out of 5 stars Just say Yes!, 25 Feb 2009
This review is from: Yes Man [DVD] [2008] (DVD)
It's been a long time since Jim Carrey has delivered a funny film. The only funny (successful) films that Jim Carrey has pulled off are the ones that he made with Tom Shadyac. Well, those and films such as The Grinch, The Mask and Dumb and Dumber.
What's good about Yes Man is that it shows Jim Carrey as a realistic and serious human being but when he starts to say "Yes" to everything, his wacky side comes out!
Perhaps not as good as Liar Liar or Bruce Almighty, but definatley belongs in his BEST pile!

5.0 out of 5 stars In a word.... EPIC!, 24 Feb 2009
Could this be the end of Futurama? Let's hope not!
From 2003 - 2007 we have had to not only put up with no Futurama but awful Simpsons episodes, despite the fact it isn't funny anymore!
With the successful sales of the first 3 DVDs and a satisfying and EPIC conclusion to this 'season', all we can do is keep our fingers crossed for more of the Planet Express crew!
Buy this DVD!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Future is Bright, 3 Nov 2008
Futurama is by far the successor of the Simpsons. I've seen the first two movies and I have yet to be dissapointed. As for Bender's Game, the plot is slightly ridiculous but that doesn't mean it isn't entertaining. The jokes are funny and there are some scenes that will guarantee will make your jaw drop (Leela and Amy make out!)
Needless to say if you're a Futurama fan, you won't be dissapointed. Trust me, this is one you don't want to miss!

4.0 out of 5 stars Back to the Futurama..., 26 Jun 2008
Ok, we all know the story.
Matt Groening creates Futurama, it runs for 5 years, it gets cancelled, the Simpsons becomes terrible, FUTURAMA RETURNS!

After Bender's Big Score, we were all curious to what was gonna happen next and the big question was, will the next part HIT or MISS?

In most places, it hits but unfortunatly there are a number of places where it misses. These are only minor speed-bumps but there a some parts where fans will wanna say "This could have been better!"
Needless to say, one of the things that makes Futurama great is character development (something the Simpsons doesn't have). We have Fry with his new girlfriend, Amy and Kif tieing the knot and Bender joining the League of Robots. This is enough to please the geekiest Futurama Fans.

Overall, if your a Futurama fan, don't miss out. Although some may love it and some may loath it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Here we D'oh again!, 2 Feb 2008
The Simpsons has been on the air for over 20 years and I think we can all say we are all fans. But the truth is I haven't watched the series in 7 years, nor did I see the Movie at my local cinema.
Why you ask? The episodes have gotten lamer and lamer and not to mention Homer has gone from Hilariously stupid to UnbelivablY ANNOYING! I literally watched this movie and felt like Homer was becoming a cross between Spongebob, Scrappy Doo and Jar Jar Binks rolled into one.
But I will give this movie points for envolving the WHOLE family and a story that fits well with a movie.
Even though this movie was a dissapointment, ther is something to look forward to......

4.0 out of 5 stars Studio Ghibli has done it again!, 29 Jan 2008
This review is from: Tales From Earthsea [DVD] (DVD)
It's been a few years since Howl's Moving Castle and we've been waiting for another movie from Studio Ghibli. And from them comes Tales from Earthsea. This movie is directed by the son of the legendary Hayou Miyazaki, 'Goro Miyazaki'.
These been alot of critisism about this movie like it doesn't live up to Hayou Miyazaki's visions but it's actually not all that bad. The only bad thing about this movie this that it suffers from lack of backstory (much like Porco Rosso).
But who knows, you may enjoy this movie, you may not. But there is much to enjoy in this movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Futurama is BACK!, 21 Jan 2008
After 4 years of annoying Reality TV shows and bad Simpsons epiodes, Futurama is finally back!
Picking up 2 years after the Planet Expresses crew's last adventure, they are hired to make a delievery to a Nude Beach Planet where they are scammed by evil alien-space-nudists and are engaged into a hostile takeover. They soon discover the secret of time-travel on Fry's ass and use Bender to travel back in time to loot the world of it's most valuble treasures.
To keep a review short, if you love Futurama or were dissappointed with The Simpson's Movie (I know I was). Then make sure you own this copy and the rest to follow!

5.0 out of 5 stars So good! It'll whisper to your Heart, 6 Mar 2007
This review is from: Whisper of the Heart [DVD] (DVD)
Studio Ghibli is famous for it's fantasy style films. Much liek Disney. But unlike it's previous films, Ghibli has taken a different step towards animation and done a serious, legitament film.
Most animated films usually keep background animation simple, by which I mean the background characters don't move or they use the same backgrounds over and over again. Whisper of the Heart however makes the animation so close to real life and creates a world where not everything in live is perfect.
The Story is very emotional and really glues you to the characters and the plot. You'll fall in love with the main characters, Shizuku and Seji who will show you how special the talents within you can help you see deep within yourself.
