2.0 out of 5 stars Great machine - when it works!, 22 Jan. 2008
Got one of these bought for my birthday. After 6 months it had to have a whole new DVD drive fitted - wouldn't play or record anything! 6 months later it started to malfunction AGAIN. COMET sent it back to their repaire shop and told us to choose something else instead!! Am opting for a Panasonic DMR E727EBK instead and hope this is a better option. Very disappointing from an industry leader like samsung - but excellent service from Comet!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing Less Than Brilliant, 29 Jan. 2007
This review is from: Hello Angel (Audio CD)
I recently purchased this remastered CD edition of Sandie's creative masterpiece and it has really stood the test of time.

If your sole knowledge of Sandie is her 60's catalogue of pop gems and her ill conceived foray into Eurovision (why oh why??!) then you may not be prepared for the cutting edge quality of this disc.

Working with Marr and Morrissey really brought ot the best in Sandie. High points are difficult to choose... but for me 'I don't owe you anything' really hits the spot. As does 'Nothing Less than Brilliant' Why she hasn't done anything since this release is beyond me, I guess the pop landscape is littered with glories past... but even if she never records another note this record will remain an undisputed classic and is definitely worth addidng to ANY music lovers collection.

3.0 out of 5 stars Forgive her, for she has sinned..., 29 Jan. 2007
Now please don't get me wrong, this concert is absolutely sensational. I was lucky enough to have seen Madonna perform her mind-boggling show in London last year - and the way that this DVD has been filmed really manages to convey the excitement and energy surrounding the (quite frankly) exhausting performance by the Queen of rock, pop and just about all things musical.

The reason I've given this DVD / CD set a lowly 3 stars is because of the distinct lack of effort that has been put into creating the finished product. Please compare this (and her previous live 'set' 'I'm going to tell you a secret') with Kylie's last two concert releases. Miss Minogue and her label give us documentaries, the complete show on DVD and CD, backdrop videos, bonuses etc, etc. It's like they know what the fans really want - and aim to give it to them.

Yet again Madonna fans are short-changed - with a bare bones release, precious few extras, a poorly chosen tracklist for the accompanying CD (come on, 'confessions' and the 'sorry' remix were great in the context of the show but I'm sure we'd all prefer 'Live To Tell' or 'La Isla' on the audio CD!!!!) Where are the videos for the singles from confessions?, where are the multi camera angles?, an option to play the stunning filmed intro on it's own and so on....

By all means buy this release because the concert itself is truly phenomenal and very well transferred to the screen...but continue to be disappointed in Warners treatment of Madonna 'the product' and her ladyship's own seeming lack of desire to give the fans what they really really want.
