5.0 out of 5 stars Really helpful resource, 7 Aug. 2015

Having returned to teaching after 20 years and moved from KS2 to teaching KS3 History, I have found this book really practical and helpful. Chapters are also clearly divided so I can quickly find highlighted points again.

A Buddhist Critique of Christianity
A Buddhist Critique of Christianity

1.0 out of 5 stars UnBuddhist Buddhist!, 4 Oct. 2013
Having worked in Thailand as a missionary for 18 years, read the Buddhist scriptures and tried to understand and critique from a Christian perspective, I was looking forward to reading this book of critique of Christianity.

I was dismayed at the ungracious and unworthy way the author set upon his task. A genuine critique should be both positive and negative, balanced and unprejudicial. This book is not.

1.0 out of 5 stars shoddy version of a great book, 1 Aug. 2013
The contents page isn't formatted properly. This makes it very difficult to access some chapters. Don't waste your money on this. Get the higher priced but better quality edition.

On Calvinism
On Calvinism

1.0 out of 5 stars Badly titled tirade, 16 Mar. 2013
This review is from: On Calvinism (Kindle Edition)
I downloaded this book as I could find no information on the author, or any review of it's content. I was very disappointed to see a one sided polemical and unfair portrayal of calvinism which was more like scaremongering!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stimulating read!, 22 Jan. 2013
Carl Trueman's writing is always thought provoking, and in this case very insightful into the reasons for the lack of cohesion in the evangelical movement (particularly reflecting on North America, but applicable everywhere). An easy read, well written, but a book that will be most effective if we take time to reflect on the author's observations and take his warnings to heart.
