This is a hugely refreshing book on leadership. Much of what is written in leadership is the same old stuff, reworked time and again. This is new and different, and brings new questions and ideas to the leadership debate. It is thorough, rigorous and highly recommended!

Excellent, thorough and well researched book reviewing different theories of emotions and developing a theory of embodied emotions which is not reductionist or simplistic, and grasps the normative and social components of emotions. I felt the author could have been a little clearer at times, but overall an excellent book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent challenge to current popular thinking on leadership, 15 Mar. 2011
This book gives a great critique of leadership thinking in society today. The author challenges us to look at what we expect from our leaders, and the dangers of arrogant and egoic leadership. Very timely given the current economic difficulties around the world.
