5.0 out of 5 stars Can`t fault this item, 1 Oct 2010
I paid 8.00 for this travel kettle on amazon. Turned out to be excellent value. It has a concealed element which minimises limescale build-up. It comes with 2 travel cups and tea spoons to boot! It has a useful hook to wrap the cord around. Capacity is enough for 2 small cups. You could use it at home but the cord cannot be removed from the kettle so you would have to keep it next to the sink.

I wanted a realistic flight sim - something to get my teeth into and detailed. Although the handelling of the planes feels quite realistic, there is not enough to actually do. Much more could have been made of taxiing, taking of and landing. Planning the missions. Instead the missions become repetive quite quickly.

Missions mostly follow the formula of fly to an area on the map, shoot some bombers or fighters, sometimes you bomb or rocket some surface targets, and them landing is a bonus. I would have liked a more varied experience.

Arcade mode is too easy and unrewarding as enemys are destroyed with one hit and the handelling is too forgiving and so unrealistic its silly. Simulation mode is challenging but its too hard to accomplish later missions as you get no radar and it`s too hard to identify targets. So I prefer the middle mode - realistic. Same as simulation but you get radar. In simulation you can also choose flaps engaged or not, and also set trim but use of these is pretty minimal and doesn`t add much to the feel of really flying a plane compared to realistic mode.

One thing that bugs me a lot is that about half the flyable planes don`t have in-cockpit view, eg Messerschmitt 109, Heinkel 111! For a realistic feel you need in-cockpit view.

The difficulty curve suddenly increases from very easy to extremely tough from one level to the next. Performing some of the manouvres such as loop, Immelman in combat in most of the planes eg Hurricane, I-16 is nigh on impossible. So you mostly end up just basic manouvering trying to get on the tail and hoping you get them before they get you.

Graphics and sound are both average. The content of cut scenes is pretty thin.

The best thing about this game was the first week learning to handle the planes and trying out the different planes you unlock. It`s quite satisfying to down a 109 in a hurricane or spitfire. The large size of the maps is good compared to games like ace combat 6.

Overall this is not a bad game, just mediocre. With hindsight I probably wanted something it is not trying to be. However I think almost anyone will get bored with this quite quickly whether looking for arcade action or detailed simulation.
