5.0 out of 5 stars The Naked Truth of Naked Harp, 10 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Naked Harp (Audio CD)
A beautifully crafted album: aesthetically from artwork, booklet, and music. This album proves that Jenny from Omnia is a truly and wonderfully gifted musician. She makes the harp sing with emotions that is usually lacking in a lot of harp music, and gives a true essence of each culture and country a particular song comes from. The Artwork is beautifully complimentary to the whole album, and the words explaining each song is very personal. Personally,I've felt Omnia slightly lose their way musically, but this album brings it all down to the Naked Truth: great musicianship is a talent to enjoy and makes the soul dance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dan Moi brilliance., 10 Feb. 2012
Brilliant and easy for beginners. Well made and lovely tones. I play many types of mouth harps, and would recommend these to anyone who is just starting out. As long as they are looked after, they will last for ages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perry is Back, 25 Sept. 2010
This review is from: Ark (Audio CD)
Brendan Perry is back with his second album "Ark". A collection of thought provoking, mind stimulating songs shows that he is still on the highest level of songwriting and tune composition.
Wonderfullly crafted, this is an album which - even though it'll never be noted by the mainstream media run industry - should be in everyone's collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Modtastic Must, 12 Jun. 2010
This review is from: Sugar Lumps Vol.2 (Audio CD)
This is a must for all Mods who are fed up with the usual, run of the mill tunes associated with the Mod Movement. This second collection has some banging, trippy tunes that sound timeless.

4.0 out of 5 stars Eternity Invades the realms of good music, 12 Jun. 2010
This review is from: Eternity Invades (Audio CD)
I saw Vicky Beeching when i accompanied my wife and family to this year's Spring Harvest. Even though I am not a Christian, I have to say that this is one talented song writer. She writes from the heart for about a subject which she is passionate about, with good, memorable tunes. Her vocals and instrumentation are second to none.
This album is a fine example of song writing. If you are of a christian faith and like modern, inspiring songs, this is definitely for you. If you are not a christian, but are open to listening to good music, you can still appreciate the tunes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Medicine for the ears and soul, 28 Jan. 2002
This review is from: Mawio'mi (Audio CD)
This is an album that is well crafted, with songs that blend traditional Native American songs with neatly honed rock riffs and ballads. Medicine Dream are a relatively unknown band outside the American indian Radio stations, let alone outside the U.S.A. But this album does not alienate non native listeners. True, some of the lyrics may sound a bit "worthy" to those who have little to no knowledge or understanding of modern day American Indian issues. But this is a real band playing and singing from real experiences. Also, unlike many other albums that try to fuse modern western music, such as rock, with traditional tribal sounds, these guys play and sing the real thing: there's no sampling here. This is a band with a truly home grown feel, sticking to their roots, yet reaching out to a wider audience without losing that touch. I love this album. I love each song and the way it makes me think and feel. This album is a peoples album, regardless of bakeground or race. Don't just take my word for it, try it youself.
