4.0 out of 5 stars The film that actually made me luck Wolverine, 20 April 2014
This review is from: The Wolverine [DVD] (DVD)
The thing that makes this film quite different to other superhero films, is the fact that it is very character-based and the plot comes second. This allows an insight into just who Wolverine is and the constant struggle that rages in his mind. The action sequences which whilst not frequent, they definitely are thrilling when used. The only thing which this film falls down in is the weak characterisation of viper. Also make sure you stay through the credits for a very awesome scene which will have you very excited for 'days of future past'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Good, 16 April 2014
This review is from: Monsters University [DVD] (DVD)
I didn't have high expectations for this film, mainly because I wasn't a fan of the first film (although some parts were good such as the heart-wrenching moment when Boo and sully were separated, I just thought it was a bit dull- however nobody else seems to think so) and it seemed unnecessary. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that this movie has an infectious warmth about it and the third act of the film played out unexpectedly. Highly Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why All the Hate?, 16 April 2014
This review is from: Iron Man 3 [DVD] (DVD)
I've read a lot of reviews which slated this movie for it's disregard for the source material. But this is supposed to be an adaptation and shouldn't completely copy the comics as this would make the film predictable as you'd know how everything was going to end. So the creative team behind this brave film decided to take a risk and in my opinion it worked as it completely defied my expectations and genuinely surprised me. I didn't feel cheated and it was just hilarious to watch. This twist also wasn't a detriment to the overall plot as we still got a very epic ending and has left me in doubt as to whether we'll see more of Iron Man (in a good way).

Doctor Who - Series 5, Volume 4 [DVD]
Doctor Who - Series 5, Volume 4 [DVD]
Dvd ~ Matt Smith
Price: 6.13

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, 13 April 2014
The main attraction of this DVD is the epic 2-part finale that is surely the best of the Matt Smith era and of all of Moffat's episodes. Also included is 'the lodger' which is harmless fun and allows us to see just how much of an 'Alien' the doctor is by putting him in an ordinary suburban setting. Highly Recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect, 8 April 2014
Not a weak link in this set. From the wonderfully imaginative and clever 'Silence in the library/Forest of the era's, which introduced a very important character in an unusual way to the masterpiece that is 'Midnight'- an episode that will linger in your mind long after watching it. Highly Recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Darkest Season, 1 April 2014
This season is considered the 'Nadir' of the show, however I beg to differ and I believe this is one of the most daring and shocking season's that the show has put out. Outstanding episodes such as 'Afterlife' and 'Once More With Feeling' showcase exactly what this season is made off. Unfortunately a short mid-season slump and those bizarre few episodes which made out Willow's over-reliance on magic to be a drug addiction, stop this season from being incredible. Nonetheless, this set comes highly recommended for Buffy's ressurection arc, the beginning and end of Willow's magic re-use arc and some very shocking moments, which I won't divulge for fear of spoilers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than people say..., 1 April 2014
I don't really understand why a lot of people don't like this season . Sure, the season arc is a bit flimsy, but it doesn't really get in the way. There are a ton of great standalone episodes and the character development in this season is outstanding- this season is vital for the characters. This season is also perhaps the most humorous and it ends on the unique masterpiece 'Restless'. Highly recommended.

A complex arc driven season which only has a few weak episodes at the beginning. The twists and turns in this season are countless and make for gripping viewing. Highly Reccommended.
