5.0 out of 5 stars Touching And Hillarous, 22 July 2009
I struggle to see why anyone would bad mouth this wonderful peice of television history. Jim Royle, though a bit of a selfish brute, he would never have been as cruel as to throw Nana out. It's an issue that strikes home with most families, an issue protrayed beatifually and one that will have you howling with laughter but crying uncontrably at the same time. Their are plenty of highlights through out, I was howling over the argument over the batteries, typical Jim behaviour. Its a self paraody of working class life, such suttle things can spark such furious fires, if you can laugh at yourself this will be a treat. And when its not being funny, its digging deep into your chest and ripping out your heart. I only wish this was the sign off for the Royles though I still crave more but the special after this was awful. Still top class performance, especially from Nana! 5 stars

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantasic Comedy Drama (Nicely nicely), 14 Jun 2008
This review is from: Ideal - Series 2 [DVD] (DVD)
Season two of Ideal is bigger and better, carrying on the dark surrealism that concluded the first, this series pace is a little faster than previous. Introduction of feared crime boss Stemroach (You might have seen him in Harry Potter as Finch the caretaker ;)), is a touch of genius the easiest highlight too mention. Than theirs the time Moz has a heavy trip on an overdose of mushrooms, one of the greatest trip scenes the BBC has probably ever had the pleasure to show us. The introduction of Judith, Mozs neighbor with quite a shocking secret. Wrapped together with a kidnap plot, and the mystery of who is Nicki's baby's father. BBC at its best, I think so and I'm sure you will too if you give this fresh of breath air a chance

5.0 out of 5 stars More than a show about drugs..., 14 Jun 2008
This review is from: Ideal - Series 3 [DVD] (DVD)
Ideal is perhaps the most under rated comedy drama England has had too offer in quite some time. The scripts are clever and gripping, the actors are brilliant and their characters are even better. With so many great lines, and gripping stories that have you coming back week after week, whats not too love?

Season three sees Moz purpose to his girlfriend by accident, as the wedding day quickly approaches he tries time and time again to wiggle out of it. Cartoon Head and Physco Paul start recording porn in his flat, and Alan (The Christan builder) is slowly driven completely mental by the harsh and cruel reality's that surround him.

Admittedly this is not Ideals best season, but it never once gets boring, and with season four being as brilliant as it has been, now is the perfect time to catch up and await the fourth season being released on DVD. I plead with the British public to watch Ideal more often or to give it a chance, to make sure the BBC know that we love fresh brilliantly written comedy dramas and we'd love to see more like it take over the rubbish filled BBC three

Special features include, a rather bizarre documentary, Cartoon Head The Mask behind the Man, Ideal Night Out actors from Ideal do a charity stand up gig (The highlights being Cartoon Head and Johnny Vegas), Out-takes and Photo Gallery

The one big complaint/question I have though, is why did it take so long for series 3 to be released? If it was released two weeks before Season Four, it might have bumped up the viewing figures for the new season. If that wasn't bad enough we had to wait over a year for it to arrive. *Sniffs*

In closing Ideal is brillant

5.0 out of 5 stars Just What The Docter Ordered, 7 Mar 2008
This review is from: Ideal - Series 1 [DVD] (DVD)
Fresh, original, funny and gripping. This is by far one of the best comedy's that has hit BBC Three, straight up their with Little Britain, but for completely different reasons. Moz is a small time nobody, who deals pot for a living. The whole show is centered on his flat with people coming to visit to score some weed. Each character is different and holds a separate story we learn of as the series goes on. Most of the time Moz ends up on the crap end of the stick, and bullied into things by local nutter, Physco Paul and Cartoon head, Cartoon Head being my favorite. The story is good enough to keep you gripped and coming back for more, the characters are likable, and most importantly the central character, as played by legendary drunk, Johnny Vegas, is attachable. With the third season hitting stores soon and the fourth season airing later this year, its the perfect time to catch up or get into Ideal

Also if you enjoyed this, you may enjoy a similar comedy, called Top Buzzer, you can pick it up cheap on DVD, easily recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Pass This Game Up!, 22 Jun 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Resident Evil 4 (Wii) (Video Game)
Capcom have stated that this game is not a remake, just a port of a modern classic. Alot of people can slate Capcom for doing this, but this is the defintive version, boasting the graphics the cube had and the extras the PS2 offered (We will completly ignore for now the PC version of the game, because it was a crappy port). And they've even thrown in new controls, that not only enhance the experince but make the game far more enjoyable. One further change is that with the laser sight, its no longer a dot but a cross, tagged with the wii-mote, shooting is a lot easier. Do not let this make you think that this makes the game easier, because being able to shoot straight isn't going to stop baghead ripping your head off!

If you haven't already played it (Were have you been?), than buy it, if you already own it on another console, buy it again, just for the sake of having the defintive version and experincing this ground breaking and innuative game on a ground breaking and innuative console. I need not say no more because this game speaks for itself

5.0 out of 5 stars This film rang my bell, 22 Oct 2006
This review is from: Venom [DVD] (DVD)
Film is a pleasure to watch and is a refreshing trip back to how slashers were not how they stand at the momment. A good villian, fun plot, the voodoo theme is a good one, intresting charchters, good location. Sure theres better, but there are a lot worse. If your into your slashers check out this gem that has been so poorly treated by its producers

5.0 out of 5 stars You will not be dissapointed!, 23 Mar 2005
I sat waiting for the postman to come a week ago, from the momment I put it in my cube to this very momment I have loved every minute of it!
The Good Points!
Someone made critcism on the restriction of the controls, my oppinion is the controls have never been better for resident evil. Not been able to strafe or look round corners isnt a bad thing, the over the shoulders view makes up for it, it is so much easy to aim than any other third person shoot em up. And the badguys actually react to where they have been shot, it is so much fun shooting people in the knee caps and blowing there heads off!
Movies are interactive and throughout the whole game you are always kept on your toes thanks to a great but not perfect a.i.
Bosses are well designed and very fun to fight
Checkpoints are brillantly placed so levels are hard but not annoying to finsh
The merchant adds a new dimeson of gameplay, with a wide range of weapons and upgrades meaning you can play the game so many differnt ways
Finnaly capcom have brought back resident evil to a respectable standard with a good story and more serious approch than previous installments!
Bad Points
Ashley (the girl you have to protect at parts of the game) can bring you to the point of throwing your pad through the tv, but she isnt always by your side and sometimes when she is you can leave her in another room
Get this game, you owe it to yourself resident evil fan or not! This game was the orignal survial horror and now its paving new ways for action games!

2.0 out of 5 stars Sonic Deserves Alot More!, 18 Nov 2004
This review is from: Sonic Mega Collection (Video Game)
Sonic Mega Collection is all that it sez, classic sonic games from the megadrive which is all good and great (I remeber spending hours trying to complete evry single 1 of these games!) but there could have been so much more
They could have polished up evryfin 4 the new generation of gamers with new levels, new charchters even movies to link it all together but still leave the option to play the classic versions. They should have included EVERY classic sonic game, even the rare ones like Sonic CD. What would have been nice as well is if they dug into there archives to let you expernice the sonic that never was, with demo levels and bosses! Maybe they could have also made a classic retro style sonic game for all the fans that have waited so long for a real squeal! Bonus games like say surival where you have to fight all the bosses in a select order and so on would have been fun also. Finally they could have included fan games from the net touched up, Sonic time Attacked any1? brillant game, and episodes from his classic tv show wud hav bin nice
Im dissapointed with Sega for realsing a cheap few hours job game, sonic fans deserve much more after years of following the game, I suppose all this disk is good for is showing the new players how good sonic used to be, but Iv got a megadrive for that so whats the point?
It gets the two stars for having the greatest games of all time, Sega could you please show some respect and love for the charchter that is Sonic and treat all the fans with a game which praises Sonic not rips him off!!!
