Purple's big live album which involve the great excesses of Lord/Blackmore and Gillians amazing vocal. Somthing you miss in Deep Purple today. But one must take into consideration (no matter how many mastertapes you got) that it's not possible to compare the sound quality on a live recording from 1972 with a recording from 2000. This blu-ray is the best attempt so far with a major upgrade of the sound. You will not automatically get a better sound with 5.1,the HD-Master stereo is great. Be happy, because we blu-ray fanatics possibly are a dying breed

Lennon's best soloalbum, A remarkable collection of songs he never was able to repeat. The sound is open, pure, The dts-Hd Master track is superb. Only stereo, not 5,1 but it don't matter. No CD can beat the sound on this one.

3.0 out of 5 stars A little disappointed, 5 Jan 2014

Reinforced with a bunch Swedish musicians and a string Quartet i looked forward to this show, but did not entirely meet my expectations. Video superb,Audio almost perfect but a little rusty in the vocals . The more laid back songs like Dancing in the moonlight, where the river flows works best. "The best is yet to come" is the highlight. Rockers like Sting in Tail,Blackout,Rock you like a hurricane and strangely enough "Wind of change" does not work so well for me. It is really a matter of what you prefer , but i must admit i prefer the electric Scorpions better.

There is not much to choose from if you want an Music DVD with the classic line up. Never Say Die it's the only one that comes to my mind and although it was recorded in their prime time the quality can not be compared with this one. Butler and Iommi proves why they have been regarded as one of the greatest musical heritage from the 70's, they play awesome, almost majestetic. The replacement drummer do more than a decent job . Ozzi don't hit the highest notes anymore and some of the power is lost but this is the the naural order, he is 64. Overall his doing a very decent job.The Music is the deal here, not the stage show. Classical tracks like War Pigs, Black Sabbath(with Church bells)Iron Man, Children of the grave, Paranoid and more including some new tracks from the"13" album. Audio,Video ,very good, HD-master track superb. Recomended to all hardrock, heavyrock lovers. Black Sabbath fans ,you really don't have much of a choice have you.

3.0 out of 5 stars Back to the 70's, 6 Oct 2013

I was a dedicated Quo fan from Piledriver. In the late 70's i needed a break because their continual recycling of the boogie formula and riffs seemed to have no end. In a way i have the same feeling after listening to this release. I miss some atypical quo-songs,maybe more songs from Hello and Quo and i miss Bown in the sound. In the army now and Heavy Traffic was one reason why i'm still listenining. By all means they play very well with their well known enthusiasm. Audio and video quality, outstanding. But it don't match the Montreux recording which i consider to be the best live recording in their catalogue.

Bluray-audio edition of the classical album. Amazing sound, superior to sac,dvd cd/mp3 and at reasonable prices.Lossless pcm ,Dts-hd master,Dolby truehd in stereo mixes. The Company have said that 5,1 surround mixes will be available on some releases but you really don't miss it. Only a few releases so far. Stones,Clapton,Supertramp,Wonder,Simone but more on the the road.
Not adverticed much, you hardly know its existence.

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing consert, 28 Sep 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I loved it then and i love it now.The main show is the main attraction here. The band sounds great. Iomi-May is pure dynamite in my ears. Many of the guest vocalists/artist have had significantly influence on pop/rock.They dont match Mercury of course but it does not matter because they give their distinctive interpretation of the songs. This is not a Queen consert but a tribute consert.Sound has been given a serious upgrade compared with the DVD.Video not magnificent but it's ok.The atmosphere is awesome. A hell of a congregation if you ask me.

5.0 out of 5 stars an historic review, 31 Aug 2013

It started in the 70's with cassettes, probably the worst media ever.In the 80's they were replaced with cd and then remastered editions because the sound on the first Cd's was not to brag about. Then came the Music DVD's and DVD-Audio not to mention ITUNES. Now i'm replacing Music DvD's with Blueray and cd's with blu-ray Audio because it is all time high in sound quality. In a few years we may stream all the music including HD-sound on the net and most of the old stuff will end up in the attic. But i'm not complaining because the world changes, often for the better. So for god's sake stop whining that Peter Gabriel did not alarm about a planned Blueray release in 2013. Review the product when its awailable and be happy that artists release music in this format

4.0 out of 5 stars Not optimal but what a band, 9 Aug 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
+ Superb audio and video quality
+ A superb band,including a vokalist that haven't lost his voice.
+ 10 songs from the 70's,the golden age and highlights from other albums
+ Most of the songs are complete
- Footage between the songs, but often very brief
- A few songs are cut
- The consert part a little short and a few hits missing but will it not always be like this.

This was probably made as television program and not a consert movie with emphasis on their hardrock material from the Rolling Stones/Led Zeppelin influenced period. I survive the footage and interruption of a few songs since this is probably the only dvd they have given out with an acceptable quality on audi, video. Buy it

4.0 out of 5 stars Casual fan, 8 Dec 2012
I have never been a huge BB fan, and i didn't see the consert live but i enjoyed this blueray. The way the razors edge have been used in this produktion i can understand fans thinks this is a rip-off,but as a casual listener i am satisfied.3 hours in front of the tv screen with these guys would probably been to heavy for me. They have put together one handful of songs that shows the hits and the variaton in their music. Most people feels somthing missing here, but will it not always be the case.Video, audio, not amazing but good. A feelgood bluray for the casual listener(not for the bloodfans),and i probably buy part two when it's available.
