5.0 out of 5 stars Top reggae from Italy, 2 Sept. 2013
This review is from: Routes (Audio CD)
Superb melodic reggae. Lovely base and rhythm with wonderful melodies and serious lyrics. Most dub and reggae from this German label is worth checking out - but this one is particularly strong. Buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars First Class Dub. Guaranteed to seduce., 7 Feb. 2013

Superb, faultless dub. For any fan of dub reggae with an emphasis on the smoother organic side of the genre, this album holds up to repeat listening. There are none of the aimless mid-section bass solos or gimmicky discordant noises that can annoy non-dub aficianados. A real pleasure.

Pretty hard to fault considering the price. I have used various less powerful mincers and this is far better. It would probably clog up a bit if you used very fatty meat - but so do industrial mincers. Simple to assemble and wash. Thoroughly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A masterclass in modern chilled dub, 27 Jan. 2012
This review is from: Felt (Audio CD)
More chilled than New Zealand's wonderful Pitch Black; more melodic than France's classy Dubphonic and more consistant than the current pretender to the Nu-dub throne, Guitoud, this is essential listening for anyone seeking the mellower end of metamorphosed Jamaican dub. All International Observer records are gems destined for repeat listening. Only one very minor caveat - it would be nice to replace the occasional synthesized horns with the real mccoy to dispel any fear of hideous 80s flashbacks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shocking cover. Wonderful album, 9 Nov. 2011
This review is from: Dream Wide Awake (Audio CD)
Intelligent, well-constructed music of the first order, mixing gentle elecronic beats, pulsing base lines and beautiful instrumentation with occasional wistful female vocals. Occupies a relaxing territory between the slightly soporific 'Carbon Based Lifeforms', and the more lively 'Pitch Black'. Classy stuff. Four years in the making, and worth the wait. Looking forward to the next instalment from this understated Scandinavian musical genius.

Charming record. Great production, lovely voice. Reggae with grace and originality but a bit short at 35 mins. Could have done with dub versions for the full 5 stars. One or two songs are a bit weak but definitely worth buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Concentrate, 6 Jun. 2011
Sheer Class. Listen - Then go and buy 'Revelation Part 1: The Root of Life'. The only living reggae artist on a par with Groundation and Midnite for all serious Roots lovers. Dub-seeking stoneheads with concentration defecit might struggle with this one.
