Hobbits, Elves and Wizards is a very thoughtful book, the whole aspect of it is to explore the similarities between Tolkiens life and ideals, with what his greatest work reveals; The lord of the rings.
The author tries to link specific parts of each book (the fellowship of the ring, the two towers and the return of the king) with other parts, suggesting a 'pattern'to Tolkiens writing style.
This is a very unique and beautiful book, which provides facinating insights into the mind of J.R.R. Tolkien.
Die hard fans of the lord of the rings would not find this difficult to understand, as this book only discusses issues that appear in the 3 books, other than the scenes in the latest films.
However, fans that are not accustemed with Tolkiens writing and ideals may find this book heavy going.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Lord Of The Rings (PC), 7 Jun 2003
I'm a big fan of The lord of the rings and when i saw this interactive pack in a shop i naturally bought it. All lord of the rings products have a high quality, and this delivered! Although if you do buy this and go on the printing room part, make sure you print onto shiny photo paper and configure your PC. There's loads to do and covered with invaluable information.
I think this product would be more suited to younger children, for there is a lot of painting and 'party kit' activities to immerse in. I was a bit dissappointed there were no games, or even a demo, but even so-if you know anyone with a 'thing' on lord of the rings, get it! They'll be more suited.
