JoŽl Tettamanti: Works 2001-2019
JoŽl Tettamanti: Works 2001-2019
by Nicolas Bourquin
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £24.63

2.0 out of 5 stars Nonsense, 25 Jan. 2015
I am astonished by the choice of a young and talented photographer, who decided to publish a book in b/w, of a work in color. If the cover is very beautiful, every thing changes when you open the book. The printing is very poor (type photocopy) and the paper is very cheap (type photocopy).
JoŽl, you can do better!

Price: £79.99

5.0 out of 5 stars The SUMO is too big and too expensive for you, this is the one!, 18 May 2014
This review is from: Helmut Newton: Sumo (Hardcover)
The SUMO is too big and too expensive for you, this is the one! The same pictures, but in an affordable format. It is also much easier to handle and to look at. Beautifully printed by EBS in Italy. The best choice if you want to have only one Newton book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Russia in the eyes of a very sensitive photographer, 18 May 2014
This review is from: Motherland (Hardcover)
Michel Simon managed to travel through Russia during one year. His pictures describe an unknown land. Of yourse, it is a foreigner's eye with a Westerner view but it says a lot about the country. Incredible beautiful pictures and a lot af meetings with Russian people. Have a look, you wan't regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best selection, 18 May 2014
If you have to buy only one book presenting Goldblatt's work, this is the one. An overview of more than fifty years of photography in South Africa. Beautifully printed, the best book of one of the masters of photography.

Louis Faurer
Louis Faurer
by Anne Wilkes Tucker
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars A forgotten photographer, 18 May 2014
This review is from: Louis Faurer (Paperback)
Robert Frank became famous overnight. Unfortunately his friend Louis Faurer, vanished from the public memory. It is not fair and this book repares a little bit the offense made to of one of the greatest photographers from the sixties. A lot of incredible pictures with a very sensitive approach. If you don't know him, buy this book and repair an injustice.

Irving Penn: The Platinum Prints
Irving Penn: The Platinum Prints
by Sarah Greenough
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars The road to perfection, 18 May 2014
Irving Penn is no more to discover. But this book presents a cross section of his platinum prints. Nicely printed, good lay-out and outstanding pictures. All the prints that Penn realised in his barn, from one of the few photographers that spent time in the darkroom to control all the nuances of his prints.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best selection, 18 May 2014

If you love Friedlander's pictures, this is the book to have. Probably the best selection by far. From the beginning to the year 2000 and something. An incredible journey through the USA.

Henri Cartier-Bresson: The Modern Century 1st (first) Edition by Galassi, Peter (2010)
Henri Cartier-Bresson: The Modern Century 1st (first) Edition by Galassi, Peter (2010)
by Peter. Galassi
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars The best selection, 18 May 2014
Just to be short, I am not a big fan of Cartier-Bresson. In my eyes, he is the Picasso of photography, good, but a little bit dated. But if you want to have a good idea of his work, this is probably the best selection ever made. Besides, the printing is brilliant.
