5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent piece of kit - much better than floppy plastic ..., 30 Oct. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Excellent piece of kit - much better than floppy plastic screen covers I have used before. Easy to apply without bubbles, and much improves screen-swipe performance. Thin enough that it doesn't cause any problem with the DotView cover. Highly recommended

An excellent readable introduction to molecular genetics for the non-scientist. Would highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant exposition and explanation of the rise of UKIP, 24 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a very readable and well-written history of the rise of UKIP, which debunks a number of myths about where their support is coming from. There are lots of tables, which are a bit of a pain on the Kindle, so I might advise getting the print version. Recommended reading for all the journos who continue to regard UKIP as a mix of disgruntled middle class Tories and the 'BNP in blazers'. Has exemplary use of logistic regression analysis - but don't let that put you off as it's mainly in an appendix!

1.0 out of 5 stars Totally useless as an e-book, 2 Oct. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This has parallel original and modern text in parallel; well they were in parallel in print, but in the Kindle version you get a chunk of original followed by a chunk of modern with no markers to show where one ends and the other begins, rendering the whole thing unreadable. at least i didn't waste much money on it, but it does call Amazon's quality control into question.

Mange Tout

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous chef, fabulous cookbook, 6 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Mange Tout (Hardcover)
As a great fan of the newer incarnations of the Loubet career (Bistro Bruno, and latterly The Grain Store) I bought this as soon as it came out. M. Loubet has a fascinating palette and manages to combine unexpected ingredients in a way that works without overly-poncey fusion effects (which I tend to avoid at all costs). Have cooked a number of the recipes and - a crucial test - they work well for the (reasonably adventurous) home cook.

5.0 out of 5 stars Had never read any Elmore Leonard until he died and I read/heard various obits alluding to his literary acceptability, 6 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Swag (Kindle Edition)
One of the obits recommended 'Swag' as a good introduction, so on to the Kindle it went. An excellent and easy read - nice plot twists, and a prose style reminiscent of Hemingway. Certainly inspired me to download some more!

4.0 out of 5 stars Jolly amusing set of articles, 6 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Collection of 'Down and Out in London' pieces from a writer I'd not previously come across. Mostly very amusing with a fine eye for observation. I must say that Lezard seems to come across a fine array of slightly wierd and left-field characters, which add much to the jollity. He has a fine turn of phrase: his memorable 'I though anal sex was what you did to breed lawyers' will stick with me for a long time!

2.0 out of 5 stars Warning - won't power a tyre inflator, 14 April 2011
Product supplied promptly and in good condition. Unfortunately, it did not power the tyre inflator for which I bought it. As I now know, these draw about 10A, whereas this piece of kit supplies 5A. AP Motorstore very helpful about taking the product back as a return. A mains tyre inflator is the alternative option.
