If I had to choose fewer than ten recordings to listen to the rest of my life Bach's Suites for Solo Cello would be one of them. I first encountered Janos Starker's rendition in the early 1970's and it competed well with the Grateful Dead and James Taylor for listening time. This later recording is even better. Serious audiophiles or academic musicologists could argue there are better and I won't debate that point. But if you want a very technically and emotionally played version of tear your heart out music, you won't be disappointed with this album.

A real prize. Like having a coffee with S. King, talking about becoming and being a writer as a whole person.

Word on the Street (Igrs Books)
Word on the Street (Igrs Books)
by Elisha Foust
Edition: Paperback
Price: £4.44

5.0 out of 5 stars A Timely Assay Of Public Space as a 21st Century Medium, 9 Nov. 2011
Conceived before the Arab Spring and Take Back Wall Street, this compilation of descriptions and analysis of spontaneous mass-communication in the public square foretold the effervescence of the vox populi. A must-read for those wanting to understand the angst and determination of the disenfranchised majority throughout the world who will have a voice be it through the human microphone or graffiti. Because it is impossible not to communicate, communication is impossible to stifle. A more viable response is to seek to understand or at least to attend.
