5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Discovery!!!, 2 Aug 2014

An essential purchase for all classic Klause Schulze lovers! I've never known of this CD existence and found it purely by chance. Those who, like me, love his works from the middle 70-ies, won't be dissappointed, for sure! The record while not being exactly on the same level, but can easily stand very close to such gems as "Timewind", "Moondawn", "Mirage", "Body Love 1, 2", which are the best ever from the German electronic music wunderkind. Highly recommended!

But there are much better Chet Baker CD's for your money ("Peace", "White Blues", "Live at Nick's", "Estate"...). The compositions are OK, but the sound quality of the record could be better. Anyway, recommended for the true Chet Baker fans.

Expected much more from this film than it could actually deliver. It pretends to be very clever and sophisticated, but the problem is that the director doesn't have anything significant to say. Non-linear telling of the events only make it worse. The final scene is just the top of stupidity. Conclusion : don't waste your money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Young and stupid, 21 Jun 2014

The worst film of Ozon so far. It's better to keep silent one year than to make this silly flick about a stupid, spoiled and empty teenager-girl who doesn't know what to to do with her life and thus decides to sell herself to the old lecherous farts. Love, family, studies, decent work? No! Too demanding and boring! You can find hundreds of thousands of such "young&beautifull" on sex sites on the net. They are not worth a penny...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected, 14 Jun 2014
An unsuccessful mixture of "1984", Kafka, Wells. The film seems very dated, with it's esopian messages from the time of the Solidarity movement in Poland and a very poorly executed cinematography. If you look for good examples of the Polish "cinema of moral anxiety", go for Wajda, Zannusi, Kieslewski, Bugajski instead.

I thought it would be in the league of "Guitar". It's proved to be wrong. The sound quality is rather mediocre. There are some good performances on both discs, but there many short fillers, too. I would recommend the CD for Zappa completists only.

This is small and nice movie - only 80 min. long - that I highly recommend for art-house lovers. A fascinating love story set in one of the most beatiful places in the world, hanging monasteries in Meteora. The film is stunning esthetically and the cinematography, including animation scenes, is really great. Sometimes it reminded me of the style of Alexander Sokurov from his best works ("Mother and Son"). The film's like a meditation on eternal questions of faith, love, and personal choice. One not to miss.

5.0 out of 5 stars A gem, 13 Mar 2014
One of the best films in the vast film biography of one of the last of today living true artists, who easily stands on the same level of art as Tarkovski, Wajda, Kieslowski, Wenders, Antonioni... An intelectual cinema of the highest rank, asking philosophical, existential questions about life and its meaning, love, death, belief. Great cinema!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Szabo's best, but good., 25 Feb 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A fine little film (80 min.) by one of Hungary's best cinematographers tells a sad story about two young teachers in Budapest after political and social changes in Eastern Europe of early 90's. Not in the league of "Mephisto", "Colonel Redl" or "Bizalom", but good in its own way. Interesting plot and good acting. The work received several prizes at the Berlin Film Festival (Silver Berlin Bear, Prize of the Ecumenical Jury). One serious drawback about the DVD - the film isn't remastered and at best looks like a copy from a videotape. Anyway, for I. Szabo fans it is a worth addition to the collection.

Without ANY doubt this is Rick Wakeman at his best! When I see "White Rock" on this site evaluated at 199 BP (!?), I just laugh, because "White Rock" is a piece of s*** in comparison to this record. Together with "No Earthly Connection" for my money they are the best of what R.W. has put on record, at least in the 70'ies and 80'ies. Progrock at its most beautiful. Highly recommended!
