4.0 out of 5 stars Free Crowbar, 15 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Why does Dr. Dre not offer a free crowbar with this purchase so that I can get them off my daughters head. They are firmly attached with super glue me thinks. She loves them and becasuse it keeps her quiet I too love them

5.0 out of 5 stars Brought me to tears, 3 Aug. 2012
Most of the reviews already listed cover the spectre of death and how PG deals with it but what moved me the most was his view of his family the 3G's. They have such a great courage and I am sure that those last few years with him were monumental. I had meant to read this in April when I got the copy but didn't get round to it until returning from holiday.
I was close to tears when he got into the detail of pain he endured and how supportive his family were and also how normal our figures of state were. Wonderful book and all the royalties are towards cancer charities. A generous man who has brought us an incite on facing death.

1.0 out of 5 stars Small minority, 27 Aug. 2011
Normally I pick up books and read cover to cover without issue. I had finished all the other books that I had taken on holiday and picked this up hoping to get fully absorbed. I should have thought twice when it was on offer for £3 but hey ho.
having read the first chapter I knew that this was going to be a struggle so I persevered to the second chapter until no more. Maybe I cannot cope with modern day fantasies I certainly could not fathom out these ramblings. thats me being honest

4.0 out of 5 stars Fried but not dead, 10 April 2011
Really impressed with the capability of this device. I too have not had deep fried foods for over 15 years - just worried about pan fires etc and the mess. When you read the box implies it fries every thing but doing beef is a little dodgy. Still works though. Chips are best and also vegetables but the trick is hat everything needs to be cut to the same size. I havent yet found a cube potato. So easy to clean too and no bad smells. Suggest that with cooking you still keep an eye on the process as sometimes it all backs up and needs spreading around. But all said I am very pleased

4.0 out of 5 stars Gripping and alarming - does it make me a veggie?, 5 April 2008
This review is from: Meat (Paperback)
I was not sure what to expect when this book was passed to me. Not an avid fiction reader or horror for that matter so this book was a bit of a jolt. A few times I put it down hoping that what I had just read could not be true. It was graphic and to the point and built to a great finish and the last twist was a surprise. Somehow you could see some of the twists coming. This is not for the feint hearted. I will not be going to see the film, if it is made. I am too squeemish.... I may read this again in a few months when bored on the train commute.

5.0 out of 5 stars This years Must, 5 April 2005
This review is from: Finally Woken (Audio CD)
I have little to say about this work except that I am off to listen too it again. The balance for home, car or the MP3 is amazing and the tracks blend really well. I hope that the single is a huge hit but my favorite is "I Wish". You must add it too your collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sterling, 30 Mar. 2005
Another sterling travel book out of this stable. New York is so vast that with this book its easy to break it down to digestable chunks. The updated review of the ground zero area was the most useful section likewise the tips on getting around on the bus and metro. This was the first time I'd been to New York and felt that I didnt have to rely on taxis everywhere. The book was a hit for me

1.0 out of 5 stars Unsatisfying, 13 July 2003
I expected great things what with this book being an International Best Seller. It was alas a very poor copy of Silence of the Lambs. There was poor use of metaphors and as for a learned American doctor in French Canada considering Margaret Thatcher I think not. As if you could not see the ending four chapters before. Sorry but I was so glad to put this book down

5.0 out of 5 stars Suba is stunning, 1 Jan. 2003
This review is from: Sao Paulo Confessions (Audio CD)
Suba=Simply Unbelievable Brazilian Acoustics. After listening to Tanto Tempo with Bebel Gilberto I just had to try this out . This really is the stunning now sound with a great Brazilian beat, the Latin touches that ensure you feel the atmosphere. The album is so smooth with the beautiful sounds of the vocals. This is the best CD I have bought this year - 2002
