5.0 out of 5 stars Flying Fingers, 12 Sep 2010
Have to disagree with the above review. Joe Maphis playing this version of "Flying Fingers" is worth the price of this disc alone. Not to mention some of the best guitar players in history all on one disc, Les Paul, Chet Atkins, Hank Garland and Merle Travis (All legends in their own right). This is a good compilation of some of the best "Country" guitar playing you will ever hear and without these guys there would be no Vince Gill or Marty Stuart or Brad Paisley or Steve Wariner.
Credit where credit is due. This album is worth owning if you like real Country.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fine debut album for Kevin Costner, 6 April 2009
This review is from: Untold Truths (Audio CD)
This Album has proven to be infectious and I can not stop playing it over and over. There is not one bad song on here. " Modern West" on this performance will be around for a while yet. Really looking forward to the second album? A few personal favourites for me ( and it is hard to pick some as they are all good) are "Long Hot Night" and "Hey Man What About Me". Kevin Costner's vocals are surprisingly strong (not what I was expecting but a pleasant surprise) and a little reminiscent of a young Hal Ketchum but that is not a bad thing. All in all this album is a success and one of the finest "debut" albums I have heard in a long time. Well worth a listen, in fact it gets better the more it is played which can not be said for many albums some of which can initially be great but soon become boring and end up on the shelf gathering dust but this is not one of them. Well done to Kevin and the boys and here is hoping for a tour because that is one concert I would not miss.
