5.0 out of 5 stars SAMSON S-AMP - Headphone Amplifier - Brillaint, 19 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The name SAMSON well suits this device it is strong and well built the audio output is quality controllable and powerful. you can almost turn your headphone speakers inside out like an umbrella in a gale with the amplified volume.

Ian from London mentioned his annoyance Quote " Just annoying there's no power switch, and pulling the power out doesn't kill the connections, so if you have active speakers (i.e. self amplifying) connected, you will hear music out of them when the unit is switched off. The only way to stop this is to turn the volume of that feed down to zero and leave the unit switched on. Or, pull the feed out. Either way, would have been nice to have a 'kill' switch to switch on / off without having to mess about with volumes or power leads. This is only reason for 1 less star."

These are headphone amplifiers with awesome output that could seriously damage your hearing at the higher volume settings so why would you want to connect amplified speakers to the headphone outputs. Ian this device is designed for headphones and when I remove the power I hear nothing through any of the headphone outputs regardless of the setting. This device doesn't need an off switch when I'm not using mine I simply unplug it.

Regards,

Stefan

PS And many thanks to those that helped me decide buying this by answering my questions prior to purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars I really like this USB Sound Card, 15 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If you read my review of the Dynamode USB Sound Card 7 you will hopefully understand why I prefer this LINDY USB 2.0 Audio Adapter instead. The Xear software supplied with this Adapter makes for an awesome audio experience. You can even manually arrange your speakers in a virtual surround environment and even get the speakers to virtually rotate around you clockwise\anti-clockwise. Lot's of things you can do with the Xear software. Buy this product it's brilliant.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works OK, 15 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I couldn't get this product to work with the Xear 3D V7-12-8-2142 software on Windows 7 (32 Bit). Windows 7 has it's own generic drivers for this device once windows finds and installs these drivers if you go into Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Sound, Manage Audio devices. Then go Playback Tab and select Speakers Generic USB Audio Device "Set Default" to set as default. Now go to Properties and under the Enhancements Tab you can activate Virtual Surround and apply the change. Note when you unplug the USB sound card your on-board sound card takes over again as normal. The headphone out works OK with headphones don't expect them to be able to power a set of speakers that haven't got power and a built in amplifier. If you what to use the Xear software with Windows 7 which is really brilliant buy LINDY USB 2.0 Audio Adapter from Amazon it comes with the software on disk also supplied is a short USB extension lead that helps if your USB ports are close together and you have other USB devices that need to be plugged in at the same time. Once the LINDY divers are installed the Xear control panel can be found under Show hidden icons on the Windows 7 Taskbar. Hope this helps. The Dynamode USB works well although the LINDY functionality with the Xear is a lot more fun.

4.0 out of 5 stars Why not Five Star's, 15 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: What Planet Am I On? (Hardcover)
I like Shaun Ryder's down to Earth attitude and had the pleasure of meeting him during the filming of the documentary series "The Shaun Ryder's UFO's". The photograph taken by one of the film crew at the lake I can tell you that it's not a UFO it's just light trails from the stars due to camera motion whilst the camera shutter was open. If Shaun ever gets to read this it would have been nice to have received a free signed copy of your Book, but I bought one anyway because I think you're a nice guy. My friend Peter (that Doctor Person) thought you were a tad unfair about his mention in your book. Best Regards, Stefan Lobuczek

5.0 out of 5 stars USB 3.0 with 4 Ports a good purchase, 25 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Well if you've got a free PCI Express slot and can power this USB 3.0 Expansion Card from your PSU via a 5v Molar 4-pin power connector then go for it. Remember USB 3.0 is backward compatible so you can still connect USB 2.0 devices and they will work. Great product, Bargain price and quick delivery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ecellent Product - Never seen anything quite a useful, 31 Oct. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a great product OK for fairly light weight compact cameras however I bought this for use with my tripod mountable audio recording devices. The product arrived well before schedule today and I liked it so much after thirty minutes of trying out the various configurations that I decided this to be an absolute must have accessory I logged on to Amazon and ordered a second one without hesitation. I read a review that said they had one of these that fell apart but I found the construction to be of really good quality and the price remarkable.

The product arrived very fast and provides good device protection whilst still allowing some exposure of microphones as the pouch being a pouch is open ended. The pouch has a nice touchy feel to it. .

4.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the Money., 31 Oct. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The Tascam DR-07 MKII is a pro consumer product excellent value and I much prefer this over the Zoom H1 although there isn’t much in it as regarding to actual audio quality between the two. The Zoom H1 is far cheaper and it shows in the very plastic build quality, but it still performs very well. The Tascam DR-07 MKII is a very good choice if you’re a budding or professional DSLR Videographer however you really need to buy a wind kitten for outside audio because the microphones are very sensitive to wind noise. The device operation is simple and it doesn’t take long to figure out on your own although you might have to make reference to the manual to get the best understanding of all its features. The device is still surprisingly lightweight with the batteries installed. There are some negative aspects to be aware of and this is battery related, because if your battery expires during a recording you lose the recording segment which could be a substantial amount of audio time dependant on the record file size selected and your quality settings. You can only set the file size segments to (64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB up to the max of 2GB) despite this devices supported Micro SD size exceeding this limit. Regardless of what you limit the file segment size too if the Micro SD has sufficient storage capacity another segment is incremented once the segment limit is reached without out any loss/interruption to the audio when the audio is played back or joined together in post processing. Just make sure you have good quality brand new batteries if you’re recording and you don’t want to risk losing those precious/important audio records. This is another negative the full format option available on this model it should be removed by Tascam and hopefully very soon in a future firmware update. I’ve read many complaints about this feature and card manufactures being blamed the fact is that there is very little that can go wrong with a memory storage Card so to have a card fail in this device and work perfectly in another device suggests a possible compatibility issue with this device and certain cards. You do need to format in this case a Micro SD card in the device before you can use it but you only need to select the quick format option in fact most device manufactures use a quick format option and just refer to it as format card. It is not practical to run a full card format on a large capacity memory card because it can take in some cases quite a number of hours. I inserted a 16GB (class 6) Micro SD card into the Tascam and after 3hours it was still busy formatting the card, so to stop it I literally had to remove the batteries from the device and then reformat the Micro SD card using the quick format option. I really like the Buzz power option in addition to the Drive mode option when you insert the supplied USB cable and connect to your computer which enables you to power the Tascam from the computer or a USB power adapter the later like most of us have in abundance. I was tempted to spend an extra approx £50.00 to buy the Tascam DR-40 but decided not to because it was very over complicated for my needs meaning I had the potential of messing up a recording when using this as the main audio record in my DSLR video work and anyway I much prefer the Zoom H2n given a choice despite it not having XLR inputs that the DR-40 has built in. I highly recommend this audio device my test recording have proven to me that the audio quality in A-B, X-Y modes and with a decent quality external microphone to be of exceptional quality. I hope this review helps you better decide what’s right for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars IT'S A RAIN COVER SUITABLE FOR THE CAMERAS LISTED, 18 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a Camera Rain cover and takes up very little room in my camera back pack. It hasn't got a draw string at the lens end of the cover which I think is OK. There is a frame that fits to the camera Hot shoe with an adjustable boom and curved cover support that fits to the end of the boom arm. The idea of having an inner frame to support the rain hood is OK and works well for me and there is enough rain cover to protect the camera and lens without obstructing the lens view. The product is a little flimsy but providing you are careful with it you will find it extremely useful to have to hand. I wanted to do some time lapse photography outdoors and knew that the weather forecast was for rain so I used the Rain Cover and despite the rain my Camera stayed dry. The camera end of the Rain Cover is open to the elements so there is a possibility for Rain to enter the cover depending on angle of camera and wind swept rain. So it's really down to common sense how you use this product. I noticed in an earlier review that a gentleman had purchased this for his holiday trip to Niagara Falls and the Rain Cover didn't work for him. Well what do you expect it's a Rain Cover designed to protect the camera from Rain falling from the sky not for protecting the Camera from the Spray of an awesome Waterfall. If you need something to fully protect your camera and you don't have a need to mount the camera on a tripod I suggest this product that can be purchased from Amazon: "Koolertron 20M Underwater Waterproof Case DSLR SLR For Canon 5D III 5D2 7D 60D 600D Nikon D700 D5100" I Hope this helps you decide what's best for you. :)

3.0 out of 5 stars Trying to be helpful..., 8 Sept. 2013

The Transcend Wi-Fi card whether it be the 16GB of the 32GB version was designed to give Wi-Fi compatibility to basically any digital camera/device that supports high capacity memory cards although there are a few exceptions so check the compatibly list here: http://uk.transcend-info.com/Products/Compatibility/?Modno=401 and make sure your camera/device is listed to avoid disappointment. If you are a Canon EOS user and your camera model supports the eye-fi card I suggest you buy an eye-fi card even though the Transcend Wi-Fi will work in your camera. The reason I recommend this option is because you can control the eye-fi card setting from the camera i.e. you can switch the Wi-Fi transmission off via the camera if necessary to conserve battery power and also using the menu, control what images are sent using the camera built in image protect, whereas only protected images are sent from the camera. In order for the Transcend card to be compatible over a broad range of cameras/devices it has to be totally independent in its operation from the camera/device and therefore Wi-Fi is always active on the Transcend card when the camera/device is powered on which will add drain to your camera/device battery. The eye-fi option only appears below the Canon EOS card format option in the menu when an eye-fi card is inserted it will not appear with a Transcend Wi-Fi card inserted although the Wi-Fi card will work as it does for normal digital cameras. You can download the firmware update tool from the Transcend manufactures website to update to the latest firmware version which is currently at time of posting v1.8 if you require support for camera RAW files and find that the card you purchased doesn't handle RAW files. The main problem as regards card loss of a Wi-Fi connection is often because camera users forget do disable their cameras auto power off feature. If the camera goes into sleep mode or powers off to save power then the Wi-Fi connection will fail. Large files take longer to transmit than smaller files a single 4mb image file might take approximately 3.91 seconds to transfer over under ideal conditions so bear this in mind and if your happy to share lower quality images snapshots you can take much smaller images which will transfer much more quickly. I hope this helps you decide what's best for you.
