Norman & Me is a lovely book, jam-packed with spooky stories, set against a 1970's backdrop of family events and local places I recognised. It made me laugh out loud in places. There are also some lovely points where people’s stories were very moving. I couldn’t put it down and read it on Sunday. Julie has a great way of writing about her eventful early life, and the text really jumps off the page. Looking forward to Volume 2! Recommended.

This review is from: Love (Mass Market Paperback)
Buscaglia's heart's in the right place but this is very much a product of its time. Lots of unstructured 1960's rambling (the language is hilarious - loads of usage of hippy, flower-power terminology such as: 'far out', 'psychedelic','scene' and 'groovy, man'). I'm afraid I haven't completed it yet... I will but ... y'know like ... wow, baby, yeah! So, as an historical document, it is a piece of charming ephemera, hard to see how influential it may have been. How to sum up this book in one phrase: "Be Nice". S x
