Some very interesting facts. He does tend to go off on a tangent at times, but this did not spoil my enjoyment of the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must buy for a new telescope owner, 5 Jan 2013

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. My daughter, aged 11, asked for a telescope for Christmas so we decided to buy a beginner scope - a Skywatcher Heritage 130 - and some books to go along with it. I read other reviews about this book and based on them we purchased it too. It really is what you need when you buy a telescope, it has superb sections on the moon, the most important stars to learn your way about the night sky, and it shows what the sky will look like to the naked eye, through a finder scope or binoculars and a telescope - this is its unique feature that sets it apart from other books. There is enough in this book to set you going in the hobby and keep you at it for years to come. A must buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent collection, great value for money, 7 Jan 2008

We bought this set as a Christmas present for our 8 year old. He absolutely loved it and has spent every night since Christmas reading himself to sleep with them. The cover artwork has been nicely modernised, and the mystery stories are, of course, timeless. Each book normally sells for £3.99, this set was £11.49, for 10 books! Really excellent value for money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the money, 25 Jun 2007

After reading many reviews I chose these headphones and I was very pleased. I have used them everyday for over a year, they simply get stuffed into my pocket when not in use. So they do take a bashing. The sound is very good quality and they are really good value for money. The volume slider on the cable is very handy too.

The cable is not too durable however, and I had to put a little tape around where it joins to the jack to stop it breaking. Just recently there are a few cracks and breaks in the sound - it seems to be wearing out.

But at this price I'd easily buy the same again. Buying a new set every year for such good quality is worth it.

God Made Outer Space (Happy Day Books)
God Made Outer Space (Happy Day Books)
by Heno, Jr. Head
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for the young scientist in a Christian family, 4 July 2005
This book is excellent. Beautiful cartoon illustrations mixed with accurate science - colour of stars depends on temperature, order of the planets etc. It fits with a wide variety of understandings of creation, not just a literalist fundamental seven day creation. The central message is the universe is a wonderful place and God made it.
Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A superb page turning thriller, 1 Sep 2003

This review is from: Firewall (Paperback)
I've read most of McNab's books and this really is an excellent read. Very un-put-downable! It is packed with gritty humour, intense action and loads of fascinating details. It's like lifting the lid on the undercover world of covert operations. McNab's has really developed his main character. Nick Stone, into a tragic hero who just lives, breaths, coughs, shivers, whose nose streams snot, and he comes kicking right out of the page. This is a really good read! If you are thinking about whether to buy a McNab book then do so - you will not be disappointed. One tiny flaw - McNab does not really understand what a Firewall is - how do you hack through a firewall from a house without any telecommunications?
