This is A lovely little film [as remembered from my childhood] It is about a young couple who inherit A run down cinema called 'The Bijou', It has some well remembered old Actors in it , giving brilliant performances and as my Husband remarked 'It brought back some great memories of when He worked as A Projectionist in the late 1960's,, The Sequence when they turned up the heat in order to sell more Ice Cream reminded him of turning up the heat when he showed 'Lawerence of Arabia [It Works], Films do also break down.'.

Before deciding to buy this one, I did read the Customer Reviews and was nearly put off, but decided that my Husband and I would see for ourselves about the quality of the film. We were pleasantly surpised to find the picture quality was better than they reviewed. We highly Recommend it to people who remember it.

5.0 out of 5 stars 'Dear Old Uncle', 28 May 2014

I was so pleased to get 'The Man From Uncle' series at long last, it is a classic favourite from my childhood which I have been trying to buy for years as it has not been available in the UK. It is a little expensive but a rare treat that we thought worth the cost, It contains all Four series complete with lots of extras featuring Robert Vaughan and David McCallum. The picture quality is excellant and comes in a wonderful Suitcase type box {just be careful how you open the box} {Joke}.

Great to see this Western series again, Great quality picture considering it was made in 1959, terrific Stories, Fast Moving Plots, It's good to see Clint Eastwood in his early days as an actor. Great Bargain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Victorian Detective, 4 Aug. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very enjoyable series of Victorian Murder Mysteries, very good plots and acting. A good mixture of Gothic Horror, Mystery, and Humour are all blended in well together. Yannick Bisson plays an excellent Good Looking Detective, well supported by the rest of the cast making it Good All Round Entertainment. We were hoping for some features on the cast but it did not have any, hope there will be some on future releases, this hasn't spoiled our enjoyment of the DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mismatched Classic Gold, 19 May 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Classic Comedy series rarely seen today about Two unlikely people who seem mismatched but find they really love each other, as the series evolves with some classic comedy situations, as the two of them keep getting together then breaking appart with lots of hilariously commic charachters arround them. Terrific performances from Emma Wray and Paul Bown as the seemingly mismatched pair.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellant {Robbery DVD}, 21 Feb. 2009

This is a First Class thriller bassed on the Great Train Robbery of 1963 with some superb acting from some of the best British actors of the time, it's a well paced film and makes Two hours pass very quickly, there is a car chase which in later years was often similar to those filmed in the TV series The Sweeney. If you like a good British thriller this is One definatly to see.

4.0 out of 5 stars Music at it's best, 22 Jan. 2009
It is a great trip back to the 1970's when I was a teenager, A good collection of feel good songs, most things these days are too miserable, this brought a smile to my face and alot of happy memories.

A good lightweight comedy, always leaves a smile on your face unlike a real trip to the Dentist. You should always watch it in full never an extraction, A great film to fill in an hour or Two, also interesting to see Bob Monkhouse in the days when he was an Actor.
