5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 14 Feb 2008
This is the most accurate and well made footage ever made about the Royal Marines. It shows the problems, the rewards and interviews with the guys. It will probably not show all though. I'm going for the Marines in a few years, and i know that it can be a hell of lot worse.
Actually my favorite feature is the extra "the 55 year old commando" about Chris Terrill becoming one himself, living on site and insisting that he shares most of the training, completes the four commando tests and travels to Afghanistan with them. He is an inspiration to all Royal Marines and wannabe Marines in my view.
His book goes through in more detail, but i think this is the better buy, because his real strength lies in his film making skills.
Brilliant!

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING, 5 Dec 2006
This review is from: Black Hawk Down (Paperback)
One of the best books i have ever read.

It's a true story about American rangers and Delta force raiding Mogadishu in Somalia in 1993. The men are trapped in the city from Somalians swarming over them with AK's and RPG's.

A black hawk is a helicopter, the title meaning one was shot down and the pilot was captured. Nearly the whole book is purely the men in Mog, no political boring stuff. That doesn't mean to say that it's an easy read, though. It's very gruesome, but seriously well written.

Delta force are the more specialist troops, much like the SAS, and one of things i love is the author describing the relationship between the rangers and delta force. How a delta operative humiliated a ranger in front of everyone over the delta guys safety catch being off, and how the

attitude changes towards battle.

A truly brilliant book, one that should be read by all book people.

5.0 out of 5 stars ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!, 20 Jan 2006
WOW! This game really is the best i've come across. everything about it is 10 out of 10. Explore the whole jungle, terrorise enemies, raid jungle store houses, hunt for food, heal your wounds and climb trees. I'd say the most unexpected things you could do is wrestle with crocodiles or get chased by bees. If you want to do something on this game, chances are that you can. Your heart will pound in this game. The tension of hiding in a hollowed out log while enemies try to track you down is breathtaking. All weapons in this game are real life guns, like the WW2 Russian Mosin Nagaunt or the brilliant sniper, the SVD. Like they said in the reviews, you can slip your way past enemies to victory, or gun down everyone in your path, rambo style. There is a story elemt to the game, but it's not time crisis. Take all the time in the world to do whatever you feel like doing, whether it be ambush enemies, go swimming or stock up on food.
Get it now!

5.0 out of 5 stars golly gosh!, 6 Jan 2006
This game is suprisingly entertaining! Drive tons of cars each with different characters, explore the whole of Springfield, which is massive, and work your way up to the top. You can do a "Sunday drive" where you just drive around picking people up and dropping them off! But it is sooo entertaining! Multiplayer games are great fun too. Thos game isn't out for much so hit the stores and get it!

Single player games aren't much fun. But cooperative with my mate, we were wetting ourselves. This game is hilarious. I would buy it and play cooperative. You'll know what i'm talking about.

3.0 out of 5 stars fake, 1 Jan 2006
What this game lacks is realism. In real life, Sam Fisher wouldn't have completed any mission. Everywhere is magically pitch black so you can just walk past people. Also, the inverted head snap looks a bit like a tough job for some in their mid-forties. The enemies intelligence is dissapointing too. Shame.

2.0 out of 5 stars DISSAPOINTING, 30 Dec 2005
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
There are some good things about this game, like the fact that you can use tactics to bring down people, but there are more bad things. Teammates are useless, enemies are idiots, and when you shoot them with a sniper they hop in the air all limp then fall over.

It looks good on the cover, but it really isn't worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT!!!!, 30 Dec 2005
This game is absolutely superb! Explore your whole town, (which is massive) and complete tasks and collect achievement cards. You can switch between Wallace and Gromit, who each have their personal qualaties, or play cooperatively at the click of a button with a friend. The graphics are superb. You can even see reflections on the flagstones! You can do pretty much anything on this game. Play footy, fire vegetables and rabbits out of your bungun, grow marrows, buy cool stuff from shops, etc.
Absolutely brilliant. Get this game like your life depended on it!
