If you're missing crushing boredom from your life..., 31 Oct. 2012

The overriding impression I got while playing this dreary game is that everyone who worked on it, from the developers to the script-writers to the actors, were all incredibly bored. It is certainly a very lazy, uninspired effort, simply replicating Bioshock for the most part, but moving the "action" from a post-war fascist dystopia to a vaguely Victorian fascist dystopia.
The difference is that Bioshock had atmosphere, it had suspense and tension. I felt engaged with and interested in the story. The world of Dishonored has absolutely no atmosphere. There is no suspense, no tension, no jeopardy. It has a story so dull, so hackneyed, that it is impossible to engage with. Any avenues of possible interest are left unexplored or turned into dead-ends by the lazy idiots who made this game.
Dishonored is also a very short game. This could be seen as a mercy, but you might also feel extremely ripped off.
