THis book is absolutely a work of fine art. the story is beautifully concieved and described and the illustrations are out of this world, with every page framed in beautiful calligraphy, original text from ibn batuta's journal, and authentic 14th century maps. Good for ages 3+ in my opinion. this is one they will appreciate more and more as they get older. also great for adults!

This book introduces the esoteric and somewhat advanced subject of the Isra' wa mi'raj in a very child friendly way and the Illustrations manage to be beautiful and relevant without showing any of the figures involved. my 3 year old understood it perfectly so i think it was a perfect introduction to the story for him. great for older kids too.

I was just a little curious about unschooling before I read this, but after reading it I'm totally inspired to do it with my 3 year old and future child. Has tons of really useful resources at the back of each chapter which I will definately be utilizing in the following years. Now just to get the hubby on board!

3.0 out of 5 stars nice pictures but language too difficult, 24 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It's a nice book, but unfortunately the language is so complex and difficult (very high fus7a), that my son just got confused and disengaged from the book. I know he could follow the story if it wasn't presented in such strange and difficult language, but something a little bit closer to the level of the children this book is supposed to be for.

5.0 out of 5 stars rhymes beautifully and great pictures, 23 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book is wonderful because, unlike so many other children's books translated from English to Arabic, the language is easy for kids (not fus7a) and actually rhymes! great for 2 year olds.
