It's Not Me, It's You!: Impossible perfectionist, 27, seeks very very very tidy woman

4.0 out of 5 stars Not sure!, 12 Feb. 2013

I started off identifying with this book, as many people would. Who hasn't worried about whether they locked the door, or turned the cooker off? However, the more you read, the more you become aware that Jon Richardson, although he comes across as a really nice guy, has quite a serious problem. I don't know whether writing such an honest book is something he might regret.

This is just such a well known book, and if you are not a reader you have probably seen the film. Bridget Jones has become the iconic single woman. Very funny.

I am a big fan of everything Marian Keyes writes. Already have this is paperback, but thought it would be worth buying for the Kindle as well, so that must be some recommendation!

Like many others, I have personal experience of dealing with Alzheimer's. Martin Slevin writes about his mother with great good humour and kindness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just brilliant!, 12 Feb. 2013

Bought this after visiting Pompeii. I was afraid it would be a bit dull and scholarly, but not a bit of it. Mary Beard has a lively, down-to-earth entertaining style that really brings the ancient inhabitants of Pompeii to life.

This review is from: Les Miserables (Audio CD)
Bought the CD before going to see the film. This recording has some great strengths. The only downside is a slighty 80's feel in some of the tracks probably down to the use of a synthesiser. I am planning to supplement this with the new cast recording.

Very down to earth portrayal of life in the desolate windswept islands on the far western fringes of Europe. Enjoyed reading about Max, his partner, various cats and the natives of Orkney.

Susie Kelly writes very honestly about her experiences. This book would suit somebody who has travelled extensively in France and knew the places that were being written about.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant, undemanding read., 12 Feb. 2013

I bought this as I had enjoyed the author's previous book about living in Spain. This is an account of running a B&B in Cornwall, and the characters the author meets.

This is a pleasant, light read. Some "agony aunt" type problems solved, and some recipes for delicious treats to cheer you up!
