Universal Principles of Design, Revised and Updated: 115 Ways to Enhance Usability, Influence Perception, Increase Appeal, Make Better Design Decisions and Teach Through Design
by William Lidwell
Edition: Paperback
Price: £15.19

4.0 out of 5 stars A Little bit of everything and where to find out more, 21 Aug. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A good basic introduction to the topic with a small section on each of the principles (Buzz words).
What is better is the additional reading that accompanies each mini section allowing more thorough follow up.
Recommended for those with an interest or first year students.

4.0 out of 5 stars Take Two, 27 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Had looked at this watch for over a year reading all the reviews so was well aware of the variable feedback.

Had to send the first watch received back due to a faulty winder and incorrect bezel type.
No problems with the return or refund. Bought from a "Fulfilled by Amazon" supplier.

Second watch received was coin edge bezel as shown in Amazons picture and worked fine.
(Amazon as you don't give the bezel type in the description and the picture is all the buyer has to go on it needs to be correct.)

So why a 4 star rating?
This watch is heavier than most , feels solid and looks really good if you want the classic divers look.
Finish on the 2nd example was good, time keeping as you would expect for an automatic, (No loss over week).
As its an auto it will if worn daily and removed overnight have sufficient reserve to be OK the next day.
Bezel was stiff but functional if you wanted to use it. The crown wheel does pull out a long way compared with my Seiko auto.

Band fitted OK set to minimum length adjustment (No links removed.) ~195mm circumference, clasp is a little flimsy but does have a safety.
NH35A flat glass with date magnifier luminous for a short duration.

I would recommend the brand and this model in particular if you are willing to make the extra effort if needed. Durability ? time will tell.

Time will tell- Update Jan 2014:
Watch is still keeping good time if worn daily, finish remains good, no other problems, received many comments on its style.

Human Factors in Simple and Complex Systems
Human Factors in Simple and Complex Systems
by Robert W. Proctor
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £53.19

4.0 out of 5 stars Ergonomics or Human Factors, 27 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Sound source of information published by CRC which is a leader in the academic field.
Well bound (Hardback) and good paper, slightly disappointing are the black and white illustrations and pictures.
Good sections on additional reading and references are helpful.
This was for post grad study and has provided good value.
While used for specifics it would be one of the reference works you would retain for future use.
The coverage is broad and the topics pertinent to either HF or Erg dependant on your country/course.
As ever some topics will date faster than others, easy read with good explanations.
Overall a good source of pertinent information.

Not sure how long these will be available but at the price I paid ~ £200 it was good value.
Very good picture quality, stand is acceptable and will allow portrait display if you require it.
Check contents listed as not all connection options have that cable supplied in the box.
Not a big wide screen fan but the slightly taller aspect is a must for me.
Overall a good buy at this price.

Introduction to Ergonomics, Third Edition
Introduction to Ergonomics, Third Edition
by Robert Bridger
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £55.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Grounding, 19 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book is first class, it is well made especially the spine, and the paper is high quality which is a good job as it is likely to sit on your desk or bookshelf and be referenced frequently.

The coverage is comprehensive and the introductory level was detailed enough without being too deep. With a good index and headers for each chapter that prove their worth as you start to use it for reference. The Glossary and Reference sections are further pluses, the reference section can be used as a springboard to discover more detail on a topic once introduced to it.

Also containing tabular data, examples of tools and workshops showing how to use them. An "Essay and Exercises" section is included at the end of each chapter (Solutions and further information for the exercises are in a separate book). These sections are a useful preamble for those taking related studies. Overall it is a very good introduction and will help lay the foundations for further and more detailed study.
I have on being introduced to a new topic, tool or facet of Ergonomics returned to this book for an initial explanation before further study.

The only quibble is that the whole book is printed without the use of colour which in some chapters could improve it further.

Not many introductions achieve the balance of depth and comprehensive coverage that this one does.

The Principles of Scientific Management
The Principles of Scientific Management
by Frederick Winslow Taylor
Edition: Paperback
Price: £5.30

4.0 out of 5 stars Chinese whispers, 19 Jan. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book was bought as additional reading for Ergonomic studies.

Simply so much is written quoted and discussed about Taylor that his message is lost amongst the volume of associated comment. This book is worth buying just to read his original principles in his prose. The message is his, but after reading you can better decide on your own interpretation of his work and marry it to the considerable comment already available.

Evaluation of Human Work, 3rd Edition
Evaluation of Human Work, 3rd Edition
by John R. Wilson
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £49.99

4.0 out of 5 stars Tome of a work, 9 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book was purchased for course work. It is specific and comprehensive. The format is easy to use and despite the academic word density easy to read. The high contrast black text on white pages actually helps with the ease of reading. The depth of information is good with the 3rd edition having updated most of the chapters, some information is dated but this is not surprising considering the topic. The only complaint is the sheer size ~1000 pages all in one book it is unwieldy. Though the hardback is solid and the paper quite heavy for a book this size it is let down by the spine which under regular use on my copy started to separate from the cover. It would be far better as four separate volumes. This though is a minor quibble in comparison to the information it makes available.

3.0 out of 5 stars Basic and accurate, 9 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This does as advertised a small pocket sized book that covers the basics. If you need to know just enough to tackle a complimentary or associated subject which refers to statistics then this is fine. Enough detail to illuminate the subject and to easy read. I particularly liked the front cover flap which can be used as a book mark. Pop it in your pocket and read a little more each time you have a spare 5 minutes.

Mains + Car Charger Lead Cable for ALL micro Bold Curve Storm Pearl Torch BlackBerry Phones - See Compatibility List in Description

4.0 out of 5 stars Fair charge, 14 Feb. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The cost was good for one charger but the package includes both a house hold socket and car socket charger.

The two are separate, no common lead or other common item.
Good quality and decent length leads.
The car charger fits snugly in the socket not too tight resulting in damage.
The house hold version has an LED light to show when the power is on.

A good buy.

Excellent product, good delivery. Keen price for this version, check the product description and photo match the delivered item as there seem to be some miss matches out there. This order was accurate.
