I can't stop listening to this album, Matt Berninger's baritone vocals are sounding the best they ever have. The National fill their songs with many layers of music and melody that slowly reveal themselves after repeated listens. You may not instantly love this album, it grows. It becomes the album you listen on the main Hi Fi, in the car and on the PC. I can't get enough of it. Highlights I Should Live In Salt, Demons, Graceless to name but a few. Discover this band at their best.

I'm a huge Low fan but the Invisible Way sounds like a band treading water after the epic C'mom, Mimi Parker is the dominant voice on this record, whilst she is an accomplished singer she doesn't hold the character of Alan's Sparhawks vocal. There is some cracking stuff in there but as a collective works this does not stand up with their best work the aforementioned C'mon, The Great Destroyer and The Curtain Hits the Cast.

There is a groove to this album, setting off with You and I a wonderful opener that sets the tone for an album that has both depth and ambition. Produced by Aaron Dessner of the National fame Hummingbird leans towards the epic soundscape of that band. So if you love the National you'll love Local Natives. Colombia is a fantastic track along with Breakers. Its an album I listen to frequently; Highly recommended,

Not as instantly accessible as their previous. What it lacks in instant punch it delivers with depth. Repeated listens reward. Recommended.

Matthew Haouck delivers a beautifully crafted album from start to finish. Filled with gentle layers of guitar, drums and synth topped off with his amazing voice. An album crafted for Sunday mornings. A highlight of the year.

Many people don't listen to albums anymore. This cd has to be listened as a complete works, it is stunning from start to finish. Best played towards the end of the night 'I want That You Are Always Happy' often reaches into the darker parts of your listening mood. It is a beautiful and fragile record. One of the best albums of 2011.

Already a classic album the Sophtware Slump defined the early 00's indie scene. The USA's answer to Ok Computer was often a lazy comparison but Grandaddy are the band next door, a group of people you can relate to. They never had massive success and the band split because of financial reasons. This deluxe set has two cd's the first being the fantastic Sophtware Slump which adds nothing if you already have it however the second cd has so many rare tracks and outtakes its worth having. The sleeve notes also give an insight to Jason Lytle and his frame of mind at the time. A must buy!

Boxer and Alligator two stunning albums that cemented The National's reputation as a fine band. High Violet did not have the same impact on first listen. Gradually it unravels its beauty, Matt Berninger has the most amazing baritone, his lyrics full of guilt and failing, but strangely uplifting. Sorrow, Anyone's Ghost and Afraid of Everyone are three highlights, the album does not dip in quality from start to finish. So give it time and the depth of High Violet will be revealed. One of the best albums of 2010.

= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
More tactical than the gun and run play that dominates Modern Warfare 2. Battlefield Bad Company 2 is a masterclass in online gameplay. Modes include capture the flag, attack and defend bases and standard team death match. The online physics are amazing, you can hide in a building but if someone knows you're in there they can blow it up! Tanks, helicopters etc are also controllable. The single player is average, so if you don't plan to go online there are better shooters on the ps3, but if its multi-player kicks you're after this is where its at.

The beauty of Super Mario Galaxy 2 is in the design of the different worlds. Superb level structure that never falters throughout. There are little in the way of cut scenes just pure 3D platforming gaming. Later levels and 'Prankster Comets' will challenge most gamers. This game is a nod to the hardcore who have followed Mario since the days of the NES. However it is accessible to new comers as well (tutorial DVD included). You will struggle to put this down, just one more go!
