3.0 out of 5 stars Ok, but content is not as good as the original workout, 8 Jan 2011
I agree with others that this DVD should be a prequel for the dance cardio workout from 2008 (Madonna & Gwyneth's Personal Trainer - The Tracy Anderson Method Dance Cardio Workout ) for the following reasons : 1) The choreography is easier for a beginner to follow, 2) Only 4 workouts as opposed to 8, 3) No instructions during warm-up, 4) The set looks cheap compared to the original. Since I have been using the original dance DVD, I was a little disappointed. I was hoping that Tracy would release a follow-on DVD that is just as intense as the original workout with equally challenging choreography, but improve on the format based on previous criticisms/feedback (e.g. improve on teaching method - to announce changes in moves during warm-up session, inconsistency between breakdown and up-to-speed routines, add cool down segment etc.). The routines are still enjoyable, but below my expectations.
In addition, I cannot help but feel that the other instructors featured in this DVD may be better suited to teach and present on exercise DVDs compared to Tracy, particularly the second instructor, who has more charisma (connect better with the audience and more motivational). Sometimes, Tracy seems to be lost in her own world and dancing for herself (particularly in the original DVD) and forgets that she has made the DVD for others.
Thus my recommendation is that if you have not tried Tracy's dance workout before and you enjoy dance exercise routines, then start with this DVD. If you enjoy it, then slowly build up to the Tracy Anderson Dance Workout DVD (2008). If you already own the 2008 DVD and have mastered the routines in the DVD, then do not set your expectations to high if you intend to buy this DVD.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed, 17 May 2010
The item broke after 6 weeks... the USB port (for connecting to the laptop) suddenly became loose one day (for no obvious reasons) and dislodged from the body of the cooling pad. That was the demise of my cooling pad! What a waste of money!

Does what the title says. Five x 10 minute dance exercises (mix of aerobic and toning exercises). Great music and funky moves. Clear instructions, easy to follow. Highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's quite good fun, 1 Jan 2007
This review is from: Latinasize [DVD] [2006] (DVD)
The DVD starts off with a warm up section, followed by different dance sections and finally the cool down section. Each dance section is preceded by Lilia going through the basic steps before the actual dance section. However, she only shows you the steps once, rather quickly and without any repetition. For each dance section itself, she goes through the routine twice, once without arm action and second routine with all the arm action incorporated. It is quite fun, but it does not really work up a sweat except for the jive section. The DVD is good for toning exercises. Great for those who enjoy Latin american dancing. If you are looking for more intensive aerobic exercise with a dance element, the 'Pump it up' series would be better.

5.0 out of 5 stars fab compilation!, 31 Dec 2006
This review is from: Essential Songs (Audio CD)
Have not got round to buying many singles or albums this year. This collection contains many of my favourite songs that have been played on the radio this year, plus many of the soulful classics that fit well with the newer releases. Defintely a good purchase and great for long car journeys!

5.0 out of 5 stars Looks cool & great fun!, 9 Oct 2006
This review is from: Urban Workout [DVD] (DVD)
If you enjoy dance-exercise DVDs like Pump It Up, Hotpants workout etc., you will enjoy this DVD. It builds up the pace gradually, until the final section where you will sweat it all out! Agree with the other reviewers that if you do not get some of steps to start off with, you will soon get the hang of it with further practice. The steps are innovative and makes one look like professional dancer! I get bored easily with most exercise DVDs, especially those where you are expected to keep count of so many jumps and kicks, e.g. do 8 of these moves and 8 of another set of moves. Feels like such a chore! DVDs like Urban Workout keeps it interesting and fun, and when you are dancing and enjoying yourself, you forget how hard you are exercising!

5.0 out of 5 stars Marley - Man's Best Friend, 29 Sep 2006
I read this book within a day of its arrival. Thoroughly enjoyable and very moving towards the end. This is a tale about a mischievous and boisterous dog (psychotic at times!), who also knows intuitively how to be a man's best friend - protecting and comforting his family when the occasion arises. Anyone who has ever encountered such a special dog in their life would appreciate this book, and identify with the author. I like the author's writing style - humorous, honest and not at all mushy. A definite plus are the adorable pictures of Marley!
