Well here's a machine that certainly gives you a workout! The thing weighs like a small car, you need biceps like Geoff Capes or a Stair lift to get it up to the bed room. I was sweating like a donkey in a sauna while trying to put the thing together. The instructions read like they've been translated from Japanese into Swaheli, then Botswanan before finally getting to something resembling English. Finally got it together (took about an hour and i had to use a plumb-bob to get one of the wires through)and it was ready to go. The first thing i noticed is that they take safety seriously. There is a sticker on the base plate that says:-

Don't let children on
WARNING
Don't put the finger or any eyewinker in the gap, incase of any risk!

WTF? I ain't sticking my eyewinker anywhere!!
Finally got on board and set one of the pre-programmed routines. Started with the medium workout (beginners is for whimps, right?) and rattled my teeth to bits. My wife told me i should have started with the beginners setting, but i said "i.i.t.s....f.i.i.i.i.n.e.....<CHATTER CHATTER CHATTER>"
It seems sturdy enough and it is very quiet even at high speeds. I ramped it up to 100 for a laugh, now that really shakes your Moobs, thought i was going to get black eyes (Note to self, wear a t-shirt).
Well no results yet, but it's only been a week, but it is a hell of a laugh watching yourself in a mirror while your butt's shaking like an extra in a rap video. You do work a sweat up but it can be a bit boring just stood there. I kill the time practicing my Karate moves, but to be honest, i've never seen Bruce Lee wobble like a drunk on a trampoline......... On the plus side it has a countdown timer, so you could hard boil yourself a perfect egg while you exercise.

A great handy reference guide for anyone carb counting for diabetic control when eating out(saves taking a set of scales with you!). It takes the calculation aspect of of the carb counting and puts it in a simple visual format. Each page has a plate of food on it showing the carb and cal value for six different portion sizes of that particular dish. It does get a little ridiculous at times (one sets off with a portion of 1 fish finger, a handful of chips and a tablespoon of beans. By portion six its up to a box of fish fingers, a shovel of chips and more beans than the Heinz factory!) All in all, it's a really good information book and if nothing else, it does give you a chuckle.
