I finished this book the day she died which made it even more poignant. Such a carefully told story by a lovely lady who was able to put others first, as she accepted the reality that she could not achieve everything she would have liked. It will be a help to many who find themselves facing a terminal illness.

This review is from: The Lowland (Kindle Edition)
Complex and colourful, with characters who tear at the heart strings but are never perfect. A book for our time when politics and terrorism do not have simple answers, or prove easy to understand.

My first book by this author, who combines the serious with somewhat mad and always unexpected story lines. Now keen to read other books by the same writer

3.0 out of 5 stars not all recliners are the same!, 2 Sept. 2013

We bought these to replace more expensive versions which we had used for many years. They are adequate for the job but with a few niggles, like the headrest cushion constantly slipping down, and the balance mechanism not allowing you to stop in as many positions as some more sophisticated models. Nice to look at but not impressive in their function: you do get what you pay for and these were keenly priced.
