Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Not cheap by any stretch, but sound quality improvement is brilliant.

4.0 out of 5 stars These 28 year old beats are fresh, 7 May 2011
This review is from: Planet Patrol (Audio CD)
Have always been a fan of electro: Afrika Bambaataa and most Arthur Baker. The technology is quite primitive, obviously, but the tunes and the beats still hold up. The Gary Glitter cover version just about cuts it as well. Seeing the BPM on the inside cover takes me back too.

2.0 out of 5 stars Did anyone proofread this?, 11 Mar. 2009
I agree that there are some entertaining anecdotes in the book, particularly the trepanning episode. However, the number of misspellings becomes distracting and makes you wonder whether anyone proofread it. For example, the "Ruttles" instead of the Rutles when a quick Google search would have confirmed the correct spelling. It seems a bit lazy when Haines claims to be a Rutles fan. Again, although she is only mentioned in passing, spelling Louise Wiener's name correctly should not have been too problematic. There are numerous other examples.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beware!, 21 July 2008
I read Children Of The Revolution and loved it. I then searched for other books by this author and found this one. Unfortunately, it is the same book under a different title. I have no idea why. Someone will now be getting this as a present from me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Music sounds better with you, 22 Nov. 2007
This review is from: Overpowered (Audio CD)
Bought this on the strength of various reviews. Only had a passing knowledge of Moloko and her solo stuff. I have to say it blew me away from the first listen and improves with age. From the uplifting You Know Me Better and discofied Let Me Know to the slightly weird Dear Miami and Primitive, the production and lyrics are first rate. It's a cliche, but it is great gym music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Obscure? Not for long, 17 Nov. 2006
This review is from: Victim Of Truth (Audio CD)
I can't believe no-one has spread the word about this one. I bought it on the strength of a very good review in the Times which likened it to The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. It is reminiscent of that cd and has a variety of styles. What I like best is that a lot of the songs are quite instant but do not pall on repeated listening. In brief, go and get it.
