5.0 out of 5 stars No more night sweats. Works very well!, 2 Jan. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Works very well. We have an IKEA mattress which has been a nightmare due to the fact it has a latex foam top as we just ended up sweating every night, even when the room was cool. We had the same issue with the memory foam top version as well which we returned. After looking at many options this was the coolest and although it is not a perfect fit for the IKEA king mattress it does the job very well. No more night sweats and a very cheap solution it was too!
Don't under estimate how important this is, we were both having poor quality sleep due to night sweats but now that is in the past! Great product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing difference for solid wall house after 6 months, 15 Feb. 2015
I am renovating a1939 solid brick, 3 bedroom house which had air bricks in every room with no trickle vents in the windows. It was freezing in the winter due to the uncontrolled ventilation and i could hear the road at night. I wanted to block these up (obviously not the ones beneath the floorboards) and after much deliberation i opted for this.

6 months in and it has preformed excellently. I have had a humidistat throughout and when i blocked the air bricks the relative humidity (RH) went from 60% up to 85% within a week. I wanted to see this transition before i connected it up and so after a fortnight the drimaster 2000 was fitted.

Installation was very easy, i hung it from the rafters to minimise noise and left it on default but i will optimise it when my house renovation is done. So far through the wet and cold winter months it has preformed excellently. RH was down to ~50% upstairs within three weeks and stayed there. Like others have said it feels 'cool' but not cold in the landing and i would say refreshing is more of an accurate description.

Sleeping at night is a big improvement. We are all familiar with waking up in a stuffy room reaching for the window but this just keeps the bedrooms fresh all the time. Keeping mold at bay is a must but this aspect of it is equally important, this may actually improve your nights sleep! This has the benefit over an open window/air brick of being able to retain more hear and the nose is less.

The humidity downstairs is low as we have a wood burner and it dries it out very well but i will re-post once we are done and have seen it perform through the summer months. In the meantime am very impressed so far and can highly recommend if you are suffering from damp issues caused by poor ventilation. Just do one thing first, GET A HUMIDISTAT! Every house should have one as humidity has a big effect on human comfort and health within the home. You get cheap ones on amazon for less than £4 and they work just fine. Enough to see the delta between before and after. Bear in mind that a comfortable range is 40-60%. Anything above 60% and mold is able to grow, anything above 55% and dust mites start to flourish. Get a reading for your place in different rooms over a few days in each to see what yours is and make a decision from there.

UPDATE: now I've had it for over a year I can safely say it has continued to work excellently through all seasons. The one thing I noticed is that the affect on dust mites is amazing. I used to regularly take allergy tablets in winter months as I was convinced I was allergic to dust. Since this has been fitted I don't think I've taken even a single tablet, the house certainly isn't any cleaner! (I had to clean the house religiously to avoid a reaction) so it must be a dust mite allergy. The humidity levels remain around 50-55% and aside from having to give the filters a hoover it's been hassle free. In addition there never any lingering smells in the house, even after pan frying something like salmon you can be sure that you won't be smelling it for days after!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great tool let down by reliability, 14 Feb. 2015

First one lasted about 10 months and failed. Second one lasted 10 MINUTES and failed! Great tool when it works, absolutely essential for swift DIY work but this does not have the build quality you should expect. I went for a makita instead

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't be a tight ass. Ditch the paper masks!, 14 Feb. 2015

Essential for any dusty work. 14 months on into a house renovation and they still provide good protection and the ability to breathe easily. Admittedly i do hoover them and have soaked them once which helps. Going to need some more soon and I'll be buying again

5.0 out of 5 stars A silverline product that is worth buying!, 14 Feb. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've cursed silverline products over the years due to their premature failures and build quality but based on the reviews i went for this....you know what, it's a cracker for the price. I'm renovating a house and have used this much more than i expected to and is still going. One thing to note is the velcro/hook pad still looks new unlike a couple of bosch tools I've had where they just wear away.

Sometimes cheap tools can do the job pretty darn well!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great filtered coffee. Perfect for the office., 14 Feb. 2015

Smashed my cafetiere recently by accident but hated the fact i could never get a decent cup without a bitter or metallic taste so i went for one of these. The box makes it look like a car boot find but it works so well and is on par with a drip/percolator due to the paper filter element.

Perfect for work and it cleans very easily. There is no way I'm going back to a cafetiere!

Nothing speciaL at all. I would say they are just regular washing up gloves. Lasted less time than others I've used. As a dermatitis sufferer i loved the sturdy dermatological sensitive gloves that Boots USED to sell so I'm searching around for something to replace it...... I'll keep looking

5.0 out of 5 stars Good performance for the money, 14 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very good performance for the money. I had a multi led head torch which had the same body (i think it's generic) but didn't perform well and the LED's started to fail after a while.

The power on this is more than adequate for everyday tasks at home e.g working on cars, DIY, working outside. It lights up far ahead and would also be suitable for use at speed like being on a bike.

I haven't used it for long but have rechargeable batteries for it anyway so it won't be an issue!
