4.0 out of 5 stars The sound of Thunder will not fade!, 9 May 2009
I got my copy this morning having ordered it from townsend records and, much like i excpected, i love it! 3 cd's from your fave band? you cant go wrong. Disc 1 covers material from both backstreet symphony and laughing on judgement day, as well as the faces cover stay with me. disc 2 is much wider in its material, featuring material from behing closed doors, shooting at the sun, the magnificent seventh, robert johnsons tombstone and Bang!, as well as gimme shelter, in a broken dream and once in a lifetime from their finest hour (and a bit), and 2 new songs, the damage is done (great semi acoustic rocker) and one pretty woman, which is also good, but as its a demo it lacks a bit of edge. Disc 3 is completly live, featuring the legendary donnington performance of 1990 in its entirety (its very hard to get!) as well as another shot of love, which was played few times, but is a classic song, and dare i say it, a better concert closer than dirty love. There are elements to the collection that i feel should be changed however. Firstly, there are no studio tracks from the thrill of it all or giving the game away, and the only live versions from the album (love worth dying for and just another suicide) are both acoustic, which for me lowers their impact, especially just another... Also, all the way from memphis and 5.15 should not be on here. In place of them could have been live versions of river of pain and loved walked in, or some more studio tracks, but covers really shouldnt appear on this album. Also, the range of material from the stc years is quite limited (1 song from each album), and maybe amys on the run or dirty dream could have been included to add a bit more depth.

Overall however, this is an excellent compilation, allowing for more of the tracks from the first albums to appear, like moth to the flame (dark and heavy!) and till the river runs dry (one of my fave ballads) and one of my all time faves, empty city (a really dark rocker). This album is worth every penny, and if youve never heard of Thunder before, buying this will certainly make you want to hear more. Get it and love it, and remember, they are "the best british rock band you've never heard"!

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome to the jungle, wev'e got fun and games, 15 Mar. 2009

This game is now my fave on the ps3, beating both resistances and bio-shock, all of which i loved. I only have 2 chapters left to complete and i can say that i have thourghly enjoyed the game. Wor chris is as usual great, with sheva being a great partner, but not quite jill. I'm actually suprised that it is an 18, because i can't see anything different (violence wise) to resident evil 4, but hey, maybe im missing something...

I'll start with the bad points of the game first, then tell the good one's.

The bad one's-
.it may take a while to relise that sheva also needs ammo...
.the controls need some getting used to.
.wesker, a.p.u, dosen't feature as often as he should
.bagheads are much slower, less powerful and more irratating than in 4
.no merchant (everyone loved that guy!)
.2 bosses are nearly carbon copies of re4
.some areas are similar

The good ones-
.great weapons
.new melee combat
.unlike ashley, sheva is actually able to defend herself and is actually of use
.Head hunters!!!!
.involving bosses including wesker (very hard) and his new aprentice, an old friend of chris's (from re1, closer to guessing yet?)
.Longer than re4
.bagheads are clumsy, so easier to kill
.Axeman is really cool, and should feature more
.great cut scene's
.No sherry birkin
.cool tin
.new enimies
.because sheva can save you and take care of herself, you take care of her
.heart pounding moments
.hours of gameplay
.allround quality, with cool trophies and lots of replay value

All those who have the gamecube remake, zero, outbreak, 4 and code veronica may well be able to see similarities and may say that its a combination of them, but its one of those games that keeps you hooked. ok now come's the MAJOR SPOILER. Jill is not dead, and she is in fact a very hard boss, but she aint a zombie, shes just normal but under weskers control. so once you free her, there's quite a touching scene between her and chris (true love? of course!)

I can't recomend this game highly enough, especially this edition, with a bonus dvd (haven't watched it yet, to busy with the game!!!!) but it's a great package. and don't get too critical of chris's new biceps, everybody likes to keep fit!

Get it and love it, even hardcore fans such as myself can't be disapointed, so BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!

Mo'S Barbeque
Mo'S Barbeque

4.0 out of 5 stars Another classic album!, 8 Feb. 2009
This review is from: Mo'S Barbeque (Audio CD)
Theyve done it again, another quaality album. its not quite moving swiftly along but the tracks on here are real quality. 2,3 and 10 are fairly average but tracks like desire, waiting for the sky to fall and illogical really set the album alight, with the covers of come together in the morning (free or bad company, please tell me which) and i cant stand the rain tying the album together. Personaly, i rate the songs:
Desire 4.5/5
living for the city 3/5
on a day like today 3/5
why did you do it? 4/5
since i left her 4/5
come together in the morning 4.5/5
waiting for the sky to fall 4.5/5
illogical 4/5
how could you? 4/5
thats not love 3/5
i cant stand the rain 4/5
Also, lets not forget that thunders bassist chris childs is also on the album, and really shows his quality. Danny's vocals are in my opinion the best around and Luke's guitar is something else. With Thunder sadly splitting up, there will hopefully be more Bowes and Morley albums to enjoy like this one!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars My fave band just keep on getting better!, 4 Nov. 2008
This review is from: Bang! (Audio CD)
Well, this is a great album. Top class performance from the boys. Just to start i will say that the sticker for strong launguage on the front is deceiving. There are 2 swearwords on the whole album, so it's not major. It is a shame on that note that there was no title track because there could have been some fun in there! Luke is totally justified in writing a song showing his frustration as to why they have never been on the radio! Any way, on to the songs!
The Best on the album:
3.Carol Anne
5.Candy Man
6.Have Mercy
7.Watching Over You
8.Miracle Man
10.Love Sucks
The good but have something missing tracks:
1.On The Radio
9.Turn Left At Calafornia
The Ones That Should Have Been Left Off But Are Interesting:
11.One Bullet
Seriously they are real quality songs. Its just with one bullet it's like my darkest hour from RJ'S Tombstone but it just isnt as good. My personal Favourates are Stormwater, Carol Anne and Candy Man. Danny's voice and Lukes guitar really do set the album alight, along with Bens cool guitar and keyboards, Harry's strong drumming and Chris' funky bass lines. Tara Macdonald's backing vocals on Carol Anne really tie in with the song! All in all Thunder fans must buy this, it is ESSENTIAL!!! I can't wait to see them in November and hear the great tunes from this album live. Bang! There will be a storm when you hear this!!!

Ice Climber (Nes Classics GBA)
Ice Climber (Nes Classics GBA)

3.0 out of 5 stars Go Popo!, 11 Oct. 2008
I only heard about ice climbers via smash bros. brawl and much like kirby, the became my fave characters on the game and hence i decided to buy their games. This game at first really disapointed me but now i love it. Really chalanging and the funny walking hairy enemys are funny! I only wish there was a choice of the characters or that you worked as a team with the game controling one but thats really the only problem i have with it! Good fun!

4.0 out of 5 stars My fave thunder studio album!, 20 Sept. 2008
This review is from: The Thrill Of It All (Audio CD)
I got this for my birthday and i have to say that i love it! It's a cracking album and the second disc is great too!! Harry james co-writes a lot of the songs here and this is certainly obvious when you here the powerful drum beats. Luke morley is a great bass player, and yes he's a mint guitarist too. I was shocked to see him as the bassist but he does a really good job! From disc 1 i would say that i love every track apart from love worth dying for and you cant live your life in a day. I like them but one's a slow ballad and the other is a slightly bluesy affair.
From disc 2 my fave's are histrute (i think) boogie and somebody to love (not the queen song). Stl is a really strong song which, much like too bad and leathel combination should have been on the album. Hb is just the biggest muck around ive heard as a song! Its a story about a woman who walks like a gorilla and does dodgey things. It's weird but totally funny!!! This album was certainly the cd of my summer and i love it!!! Get it, you will too!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Too many covers, 20 Sept. 2008
The first half of this concert (Disc 2) which is also available as they think its all acoutstic with 2 more covers on it, kind of disapoints me. There are 3 covers and whilst theyre good (except close to you which is totally crap, pardon my french) theyre could have quite easily been some classic thunder theyre, like castels in the sand, till the river runs dry, Like a sattellite, love worth dying for or moth to a flame (instead of gimme shelter). The rest of the concert is rather good. The crack Danny has with the crowd via e-mails they have sent in is really good as well Whos a dirty funker, which is quite a funny one. Thankfully pilot of my dreams is here, but sadly laughing on judgement day or the thrill of it all is'nt. A good performance from the boys on what was of course their farewell tour. Thankfully theyre back!

Pocket Bomberman (GBC)
Pocket Bomberman (GBC)

4.0 out of 5 stars Still a fave after nearly 7 years!, 14 Sept. 2008
This was one of the first games i got for my gameboy colour and it is still fun. Bomber man is a character that you just cant fail to love! Get it and enjoy! P.s i still ahvent finished it!!!

Scream for Me Brazil
Scream for Me Brazil

4.0 out of 5 stars The chemical wedding live. with some others thrown in., 13 Sept. 2008
This review is from: Scream for Me Brazil (Audio CD)
This is a performence that can't be faulted. however the set list is 1.short and 2. a snippet from bruces career. The song's here are pretty much fine, except the dire gates of urizen. That could have been replaced by Tatooed millionare, back from the edge or something else from the two albums that don't even feature here. This is a selection of songs that bruce wrote with roy z or with him in the band. Good performance just the songs. Tears of the dragon and The road to hell are my fave's here.

Resident Evil Zero (GameCube)
Resident Evil Zero (GameCube)

4.0 out of 5 stars Poor old Rebecca..., 13 Sept. 2008
Anyone who has played re 1 will know that rebecca is not a great pianist. The same is true here. Not many people would think that you'd need an ex army soilder who looks like he wouldnt tolerate anything to play the keys to open a door! This is possibly the only resi evil i'd play over code veronica and nemesis! Great story line (as excpected)and great bosses. A mad doctor with a grudge against wesker? rite on! The enemies too are scary, funny and then just plain weird. Out Of Leech Men, Bugs And evil baboons this game surley takes the weirdness and horror of the series to new levels. You can also swich between characters which is good, but be aware that like jill and claire before, rebecca is not particulary strong so leaving her a million miles away and controling (forgot the name..) isn't advised. The Weapons too are fun, my preference was always the hunting rifle. i prefer it over the shotgun even though t only holds 2 shells! The only flaw i have is that bravo team once again cease to really show. Even Enrico only shows up once. and then you have to fight a tyrant barley 2 mins later. Great game, highly recomended. Capcom, please release this on ps2!!!
