The Aquariums of Pyongyang., 12 Nov 2011
Unlike most books about North Korea which analyse the political side of the country, the history, the leadership and its aims, the issues with South Korea and the US; The Aquariums of Pyongyang talk about the micro issues. That is, the personal side, the everyday day life for an individual. The book gives an excellent insight into the absolute control of the regime over the people, as well as an insight into what we knew little about until now: life inside the North Korean gulag system. A must-read for anyone interested in North Korea.
