5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible., 2 Jan. 2013
It's rare you find an artist that you instantly love, every song on this album is incredible, and I haven't listened to an artist with such brilliant lyrics since Dylan.

1.0 out of 5 stars Read this book, then do the opposite., 17 Nov. 2011
The majority of businesses require you to follow exactly the opposite of the advice in this book, it's appalling, and quite frankly laughable as a business book. To read things like "Don't plan" and "Why does your business need to grow?" in a business book is shocking.

No wonder Jason Fried's business has stayed relatively small, he should not be giving people advice, it's quite clear things have worked for him in his industry up to a point, but he won't be going anywhere from hear, and his business will eventually die out.

3.0 out of 5 stars A mix of great information, and outdated useless junk, 15 May 2011
Alot of this books information is very good, but I find it hard to see what sort of person or business it could benefit, as most of the information is just regarding previous studies he has undertaken. Sure theres alot of interesting discussion but I can't help but feel it's lost in a sea of irrelevance.

The constant references to how businesses should be doing things are cringeworthy, this book should have shied away from trying to have a view on business ideas or opinions and stick to what it knows. The internet section is also very cringeworthy, and it's a very outdated opinion. I'm afraid mr underhill still doesn't understand the internet and his arrogance won't allow him to.

4.0 out of 5 stars Anyone expecting business advice from this book is an idiot, 4 Feb. 2011
This is an autobiography of one of the most successful businessman in the uk, it is a very interesting read - but anyone expecting a "how to make money" book is quite frankly painfully stupid, sorry to kill your dream but they don't exist, although what can you expect from people who instead of going out and trying to do something to get a business of the ground they are trying to read a book to give them motivation - It's laughable.

This book as an autobiography is very good and very insightful, you get the usual big-headedness but thats expected from someone this successful. It's also very inspirational - not in the way that most people hope, that being that after reading this book they will get the motivation to make millions, unfortunately they won't because there lazy, but inspirational for the people that have already got off there arses.

The only reason it is not getting 5 stars is because of the very cheap marketing technique in the title of the book "anyone can do it" well I'm sorry but they can't, and Duncan even spends most of this book explaining the get-up and go entrepreneurs have, also how the business decisions come naturally to people with good business acumen and it isn't something that can be taught, although I suppose the title is what sold it to the dreamers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting, fascinating book, 4 Feb. 2011
A very interesting look at Sir Alan sugars life, much more interesting than watching his hollywoodised tv show.

It's nice to read something that doesn't pretend to give business advice, if you're looking for business advice - don't read this book, It's stupid to assume you will learn something from an autobiography, although Duncan Bannatyne cashed in on this view with the title of his book 'anyone can do it' (he spent the whole book explaining why he was different from the dreamers - altough still a good read)

More to the point, a very in-depth look at his childhood and early business ventures, a must read for anyone interested in success stories or the evolution of a successful businesses, especially interesting as amstrad were one of the first to start importing from asia and this is all covered in the book.

2.0 out of 5 stars An "seo guide" that tells you to hire someone to do your seo?!?, 23 Oct. 2010
As the other review says, this book hasn't been proof-read and is filled with awful grammar.
But that isn't my problem with it - the book does have quite a lot of information that is useful but it spends most of it's time explaining why you shouldn't try SEO by yourself and how it should be left to "experts" and also makes constant references to the SEO company the author owns.
SEO can be done by yourself - it just takes hard work and the right knowledge, something which will not be learnt from this book. The fact they are selling this as an "seo guide" is disgusting considering there advice is you shouldn't try adwords (the most important type of seo) by yourself.

The problem is most SEO books provide incorrect information (for dummies book is the main offender) , your best bet is to find a seo forum or youtube videos.
