2.0 out of 5 stars had potential but lost it, 21 April 2014
This review is from: Gravity (Amazon Instant Video)
We watched the opening sequence twice, thinking there was something wrong with the TV volume. Turns out director was trying to show that sound doesn't carry in space....
Disappointed to lose George so nearly, as it went downhill from there.
Sandra B's monotone wails started to grate and the many and not so varied underwear scenes became comical.
I bought this in great anticipation but was left deflated.
Oh and the frog at the end was just plain weird.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good solid thriller, 13 April 2014

Not for the squeamish! Good paced read, intriguing subject. Only flaw I felt was the main character is a bit too polished. He is always right, swoops in at the perfect time to save everyone etc but on the whole I enjoyed this and will look for the author's next book.

Worth a read;short and sweet. No glaring spelling/punctuation errors as is common with these types of book. Good mix of stories, nothing objectionable. Good fun!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good read but author has a formula, 13 May 2013

This review is from: Missing You (Kindle Edition)
Enjoyed the story but have read a few books by this author now and they all appear to follow a formula, so much so that I anticipated the 'let's hold hands and stroll into the sunset ending'. Read in one sitting, enjoyable story, likeable characters but just a bit predictable for me.

A captivating story on the pain of losing a partner. Beautifully written and with some good visual imagery, I was keen to read on to uncover the truth. The main character was strong willed and competent and the ending was poignant. Really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disturbing in its banality, 29 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If you can read past the excruciating monologues of 80's life and you have the imagination to give Bateman a bigger personality than the insipid, weak, power hungry creature he presents himself as then plough on through this maze of a book. The graphic scenes of torture and abuse are disturbing and sit awkwardly with the mind numbing chatter of our boring authorial voice. I'm sure there is a message about the dangers of consumerism in there but honestly I was so uninspired and unimpressed by the book I don't care to think too much about it.
