The Girl With All The Gifts
The Girl With All The Gifts
by M. R. Carey
Edition: Paperback
Price: £3.85

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting, moving and intelligent horror-thriller with heart., 20 Aug 2014
Absolutely riveting story. I accidentally read a review here that nearly have away the end and implied it didn't fit with the whole story but it really does.
I haven't read a book this quickly in such a long time. The characters are immediately fleshed out and believable. The writer is sympathetic to each characters good and bad points and while the book is written in the third person he is able to tell the story from each perspective. Not only that, the portrayal of the scenery of the world they wander through is described so well that it's easy to imagine and really leaves an impression.
It so exciting and well written.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent journalism, 14 July 2014
After the psychopath test, I sought out other JRonson books & as this had recently been made into film, gave it a try.
the amount of research that has obviously gone into writing this is impressive & he does have a good team working with him to produce such a fascinating story. What is clear though, is that not just anyone could have written this to make it as captivating as it is. Ronson describes other peoples stories with empathy and respect even if he disagrees with their views and he writes so well you justcant put the book down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic game better than Tunguska, 24 July 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This was a really enjoyable game. Much better, surprisingly, than it's original. The voice acting was better this time around and there were more characters and more drama with better gameplay.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mostly brilliant, 24 July 2011
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
I love point and click and this was one of the better games in that genre. The plot was intruiging and kept me interested. The puzzles could get frustrating at times as the clues were a little obscure but that's pretty common of the genre. I enjoyed it. The voice acting wasn't that great but it got better.
Generally a very good, enjoyable game.

5.0 out of 5 stars A LOT smarter than it looks..., 9 Jun 2011
Glee is a surreal, smart-arse musical comedy-drama. I really love it, it makes for some great TV moments. Sometimes cynical and sometimes sincere, it's a show that hides it's genius (sometimes a little too well - depends) under some high pop drama. There have been some lovely, some controversial, and some absurd moments but it keeps me riveted.

5.0 out of 5 stars loving the deeper storylines, 30 Mar 2011
I have become more of a fan with the second season. It's still brilliantly funny and dramatic with bizarre and fabulous storylines - jane lynch is wonderful as psychotic Sue and chris colfer delivers a wonderful performance as love struck Kurt.
The romance with Kurt and Blaine is truly captivating. Sue Sylvester stops everything becoming too sickly sweet with her aggressive and odd behaviour.
The songs are very well polished and mostly enjoyable. It was a good idea to add another Glee club in the shape of the Warblers to widen the scope of the Glee club.
I've really enjoyed this season. A real pleasure.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great laptop for everything but new games., 20 Jan 2009
I bought this laptop for my university work last year. It works well with art and photo software, storing images and surfing the net. It works fantastically well for everything I need it for but unfortunately it can't play modern games. Oh well, I probably didn't need the distraction.

It's attractive, easy to use and the screen's a good size. It has an inbuilt camera and microphone, I can watch DVD's on it fine. It's got a memory card slot and quite a few usb slots amongst others.

I had a problem connecting it with my modem the first time I set it up but the technical support were very pleasant and got it sorted. I've not needed to call them since.
It's heavy but I generally just use it at home anyway.

4.0 out of 5 stars Talented and overlooked, 21 May 2004
A passionate and talented singer, her only (?) album is a promising collection of songs bursting with life, anger and love. It has a slightly raw edge but the songs are well crafted and the singer has a poweful voice.
I would compare her to PJ Harvey - because of the voice and musical talent but lyrically and musically Bonham is more simple and direct.
It's a shame she didn't release any more (that I've heard of) this was a good start.
