5.0 out of 5 stars My baby loves the wipe. No more nappy rashes!, 15 Mar. 2011
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Having a 4 months old baby is not easy. I've tried many different wipes - that is, all the leading brands from supermarkets. And now I've tried this. Baby love it - in comparison to the others she never whinged when I used this wipe. It feels softer and less icy cold, and does leave her bum softer afterwards. We had to deal with nappy rash before and it had been a nightmare (without the sleeping part), but she seems to have recovered better from the redness after we switched to this.

In a nutshell, this has now become my favourite baby wipe; shame my local supermarket doesn't stock it...

4.0 out of 5 stars Strange concept but it actually works, 20 Feb. 2011
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The combination sounds weired - a bathroom mirror and a scale inside it?

We have a tiny bathroom, and the old scale always just lying around somewhere taking up space. We thought this one looked weired but we needed a mirror so gave it a shot.

It actually worked for us. The mirror reflects very well and can be cleaned easily. The scale actually clicks in place so no worry of it falling out. Doubling as a clock when docked I now know how long I've spent on the bog as well!

The scale itself is well constructed, and looked very thin. Placing it on the floor will activate it. Easy to read as it retains the reading as you step off.

One star down from 5 due to its slight draw backs: when weighing someone else after you, you'll need to lift the scale up the put it down again to reset it. I've also found the reading to be a little bit below (less than 100g) what Wii measures (a very expensive scale...); though the airport baggage check tend to agree with Wii...

BitDefender Total Security 2011, 3 Users, 1 Year Subscription (PC)

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job but hogs the resource, 20 Feb. 2011
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
As a veteran in the field of IT, this bitdefender is pretty good comparing to industry averages (Norton, McAfee etc.). As all security suites nowadays, this version does use quite a bit of your system resource which would render hardware more than 3 years old a bit slower - or very slow if it's more than 6 years old...

On the actual effectiveness of bitdefender, I personally had it caught more malicious software and 0day exploits than the 'industrial standards'. It also offers more features than those budget/free AV scanners - note not that they are less effective, but the additional firewall and online backup features in this version of bitdefender are very useful.

For this reason, I use it - and installed it for my parents as they can use it too.

Remington MB4110 Beard Trimmer Stubble Kit

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good trimmer to get the details right, 20 Feb. 2011
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The trimmer is remarkbaly efficient in getting rid of your facial hair - in a controlled fashion. I've used it a few times and it stays very sharp. The handle bar is well designed and fits well in the palm, definitely helps the control when you want a good straight line. The adjustable head comb allows either very close shave or to a length you desire, very handy indeed!

Quality piece of work, definitively recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Elegant, smart and fits well, 20 Feb. 2011
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is an excellent case for iphone4. Fine quality leather material to cover, soft lining inside. I've gone through 4 cases and had to say this is my favorite.

The look is elegant, smart and very business looking. Definitely not something I'd be ashamed of to leave on the table during an executive meeting.

This case wraps the phone very well - hides the apple logo very well indeed. It left plenty of room for buttons and plugs. The bottom opening fits most docking stations I've tried.

Its sturdy leather shell does increase the total thickness by about 5mm. This is perfect for me as there's no chance you're going to scratch that screen given it's now a safe distance away from the surface when you put it face down.

One slight draw back as a result it being a hard case, is that if you have hard object pressed against it for a long time - e.g. keys in the pocket, the dent that could have resulted if you are unlucky, does not go away.

Fine case indeed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Value case that does the job, 20 Feb. 2011
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
There's a few things I like about this case, and there's a few things I didn't like - listed in no particular order so judge it for yourself:
- it's flaming RED! and it really stands out!
- it's got a hole to show your apple logo!
- the silicon grips well to the surface
- actually very shock absorbent, i did drop the phone on more than one occasion and the case protected it well
- fit almost neatly, mine bulges slightly around the side perhaps it's an individual thing
- base of the case is thin enough and the hole is big enough to allow the phone to sit on most docks (i have trouble find one that actually works with all docks)
- none of the buttons are covered
- at least it's easy to take the phone out for a wipe every so often

4.0 out of 5 stars Insight into the great mind, 23 Nov. 2010
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The book is a quite enjoyable read. For someone reading into the finance industry and learning Berkshire Hathaway's way of thinking, this is a excellent source. Consists of many interesting extracts from Warren Buffett's letter to shareholders, it painted a picture around - albeit somewhat randomly scattered - the lines of thought on the buffet methodology that one could gain insight from.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tell it as it is, truth behind old wives' tales, 23 Nov. 2010
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
As a new dad of a 10-days-old baby I've already gone through a dozen books on baby and parenting. This is a very intelligent book that tackles the issues I face from a completely different angle. Being new to all of this, I receive thousands of tips, tricks, latest scientific discovery and old wives tales - many of which are in somewhat conflict to each other. This book helped me make sense of them all.

From this book many of the misguided beliefs are busted - like the Mozart effect sprawl out of control from a mere suggestion of possibility to a global money spinner. With solid research to back it up I find it reassuring to know what I am doing had been proven before. I find this book most useful in conjunction of other guidance books I read and hopefully my little one would turn out to be normal.

2.0 out of 5 stars Can't last all night when it's off, can't stay on when it's on, 26 Oct. 2010
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The title summarises the biggest drawback for this light.

The light itself is reasonably sized, weigh very little so suitable for a child to carry around at night. It is also just bright enough as a night light as well. The trigger is very sensitive. All sounds perfect but...

Well I just wish the light would last a bit longer or have an 'on' button! Maybe time to crack it open to see if the battery can be upgraded, in fact the bee case itself is already a bit loose and wouldn't last a few bangs on the wall...

4.0 out of 5 stars Very portable, excellent midrange sound, 26 Oct. 2010
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I was pleasantly surprised to find how small this device is - just about the same width as the iphone and about one and half its length. Definitely can be taken anywhere for a portable party as it is also very light. The good thing with this speaker is it takes 4 AA batteries as well as can use the mains so no need to be plugged in constantly.

My iphone4 fits in securely, even with the quite thick protector case. it has also two adapters to fit into the base presumably for other ipod shapes. The controls are pretty standard (play/stop/repeat/shuffle), but the biggest downside for me is there are no remote controls for this device.

The sound quality is quite good for its size. Can be turned up to very loud without any crackling at all - which makes it good for a party even in a big room. The midrange sounds are especially optimised which makes it very suitable for any vocal like pop music. It is however quite mediocre in the high and low range - especially the base, perhaps expected for speakers this size without a sub. As a result the classical I've tried mostly sounds fairly flat.

This sits a good trade-off point for cost and size vs quality. The next best thing in terms of quality is either about twice as big or cost twice as much (or both!).
