Hypnotised - The Undertones, 4 Nov 2004
In or around 1978, amidst 'big haired' rock and '1 in 10' unemployment rose Derry's finest bog men. Just like me back then, The Undertones knew little and cared even less. They were innocent, straightforward and unpretentious - yet brimming with energy and the unadulterated passion of youth. Non-confrontational but needle-sharp, this album is all about the SONGS - many of which last less time than it takes to eat a Mars Bar (a boy's teenage staple diet).
Look, it's not difficult - just listen!
When Hypnotised was released, I was 18 and John Peel about 40. He couldn't get enough of it either! Now I'm about 40 - I can really understand why.
