5.0 out of 5 stars I know it's not out yet, but..., 27 April 2009
Judging by the various and many singles I've already heard from this album - Fire, Fast Fuse, Vlad The Impaler, Underdog - this sounds like a mixture of their last two albums, and much better for it.

The track-listing is as follows:

2.Where Did All The Love Go?
4.Fast Fuse
5.Take Aim
6.Thick As Thieves
7.West Rider/Silver Bullet
8.Vlad The Impaler
9.Ladies And Gentlemen (Roll The Dice)
10.Secret Alphabets

Rock & Roll Is Dead
Rock & Roll Is Dead

5.0 out of 5 stars Contrary to the title..., 25 Jun. 2008
This review is from: Rock & Roll Is Dead (Audio CD)
Rock and Roll is definitely not dead! and this album proves it.
For those who don't know: Hellacopters are a Swedish Rock group and 'Rock and Roll Is Dead' is their fifth album.

1.The very first riff you hear ('Before the Fall') always makes me think of a chuck berry classic, and the rest of this song rages along [for 2:12] to a fast pace and catchy lyrics.
2.The second track - 'Everything's on T.V.' - is the first single of this album, and is a classic rock and roll track which chronicles how the singer never needs to do anything but watch tv as [well, I think the title sort of gives it away...].
3.'Monkeyboy' is almost like a more relaxed 'Before the Fall' and, although taking a while to grow on you, is, in my opinion, one of the better tracks on the album.
4.Track 4 is slightly mellower than the previous tracks, but if you've heard anything off JET's second album ('Shine On' . if you don't know it, check it out, if you like this you'll definitely love that) then you'll know what kind of track this is.
5.'Bring It on Home' - fast paced, pop-punk very similar to The Hives earlier stuff.
6.'Leave It Alone' - see comment about track 4
7.My least favourite track of the album, 'Murder on my Mind' plods along at an alright pace, but really isn't a stand-out track on the album at all.
8.Unlike the previous track, 'I'm In the Band', the second single of this album, is, I think, the best track of the album as it really rocks and the guitar work in it is impressive (especially towards the end)
9.'Put Out the Fire' - a soft sounding, almost Pop Rock track which, although not great is no-where near the worst track on the album.
10.'I Might Come See You Tonight' - A 3 minute 14 second soft(ish) rock song.
11.True to its title, 'Nothing Terribly New', sticks to pretty much the same formula as earlier tracks of the album and has the same style as 'Monkeyboy'.
12.'Make It Tonight' - See comment for 'Nothing Terribly New'
13.'Time Got No Time to Wait for Me' - See comment for 'Before the Fall'

The two bonus tracks - 'Positively So Naive' and 'It Might Mean Something to You' - (although a nice gift) aren't really that amazing

14.'Positively So Naive' - See comment for 'Before the Fall' [WARNING: Explicit lyric]
15.'It Might Mean Something to You' - See comment for 'Bring It On Home'

And yes, you also get music videos for 'Everything's On TV' and 'I'm In the Band' but seeing as they're both on YouTube, [like the bonus tracks] these aren't great extras.

Recommended to fans of: 'JET', 'The Hives', Classic Rock bands, 'The Rolling Stones' (maybe)

4.0 out of 5 stars Still great, 22 May 2008
SORRY. I was mistaken. As of May 2008 FOX are working on season 4 (which will be 22 episodes) so there will be no more season 3, this is, sadly, it.
In terms of reviewing this season, what i've seen has been great even if it doesnt match up to the truly amazing Season 1.

4.0 out of 5 stars Get through it just to get Season 2, 24 Aug. 2007
As the title says, if you can make your way through this series (and are either interested or entertained by the idea and plot) then the second series gets a whole lot better.
This fairly short (episode-wise) series starts with an 80 minute long Pilot in which we see the abduction of various people (from the 1930's through to 2001), followed by a skip ahead in time to 2004,when all the abductees, all 4400 of them, are returned all at once in Seattle. They are soon carted off to a quarantine area controlled by a government organisation called NTAC, where we are introduced to a couple of the 4400s (one of which is the son of an NTAC agent) who will appear in almost every episode of this, and the next three seasons.
The Pilot carries on to show what happens after these 4400s are released from quarantine and how they start to try and adapt to their new surroundings.
The next four episodes (each 40 minutes long) explore the lives of the few 4400s we met in the pilot, as well as the two NTAC agents assigned to watching over all the 4400s still living in Seattle (there are a lot of them) and adding a new 4400 character each episode (one who usually dies or goes away for some reason or another by the end of the 40 minutes).
Though, as other reviewers have said, there aren't many big special effects scenes in this first series, they were obviously saving the budget for the season finale.
Basically, the season finale (which arrived much too quickly in my opinion) cranks up a bit of tension through-out before telling you just about everything you wanted to know about the 4400s (why/where they went and who took them). The end, however, does set up the idea for the next season which, as I said in the title, is much better than this one in my opinion.
For ten quid I think this is worth buying and watching, and if you do enjoy it(even just a bit) then you should definitely check out the second season which is thirteen 40 minute episodes long and improves a lot on the idea explored in this short season.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't Wait For Them To Make a 3rd Album, 4 July 2007
Like the title it? good.
So, I think Jet are an amazing band, and even though people have said there are more soft(er), mellow(er) songs on this album than on "Get Born" (and, to a certain extent I have to agree) those songs are still just as amazing as the fast-paced Rock'n'Roll songs on here, and trust me, there are plenty of those aswell.

I would best describe this album (and maybe this band) as: a faster-paced version of Oasis (with decent singing). Just kidding, Oasis aren't that bad...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great! Rock N Roll is back, 21 May 2007
This review is from: Cookies (Audio CD)
With a nice mix of both fast-paced rock n roll songs (e.g. You made me like it, You're supposed to be my friend, Thinking of not going)and slower/softer songs (e.g. Arcade precinct, Weed)this is a great debut album from a great Indie/Rock band.

Though some of their lyrics aren't exactly revolutionary (bah bah babadababaaaaaaaa...etc. don't worry there are some real words in their songs aswell) the tunes are great and the lyrics are VERY good at getting stuck in your head.

Though track 3 has an explicit lyric (and a lot of the songs have drug references in them) it is still good album for most ages.

Buy if you like: Rolling stones,Kaiser chiefs,Most rock n roll (or indie) bands

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Bond For Ages, 19 Mar. 2007
Brilliant movie. Though some parts are a bit sketchy (plot-wise and so on...) it is definitely one of THE best Bond movies for some time.

Quite what made it so great still eludes me, but once I get the DVD (and trust me, I will) and I've re-watched it a few times maybe I'll understand why I never got to a bit in the movie when (as had happened while watching other Bonds) my mind started wandering away from what was happening on-screen.

My verdict: Great Bond in every respect

5.0 out of 5 stars Some of Statham's best, 19 Mar. 2007
Brilliant. Both movies are great, even if some of the stunts in #2 are a bit unrealistic (watch the bit when he gets the bomb off the bottom of his car). Apart from that they are both great action movies with a bit of romance in the first one and the makings of a great movie boxset.

My verdict: Buy this set
