Wood and Lambirth do an excellent job of exploring the work of this intreiging contmporary British artist, whose work cannot be pigeon holled and whose approach brings both a smile to your face as well as asking the big questions of what and how. This book expertly brings this artist sharply into focus and makes one think why have I not looked more closely before.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lambirth & Kitaj, 17 May 2012

This is an excellent book for those beginning to get to know Kitaj work, ideas and sources. Andrew Lambirth's keen eye and percepive comment allow Kitaj to speak for himself, something that he well throughout his life. The reproductions are brilliantly sharp and both illustrate the text as well as show the range and emotional depth of his output. This book should be on any teenagers reading list if they are interested in, painting, ideas and Fine Art. I thoroughly recommend this monogram to you all - it is a must read.
