2.0 out of 5 stars If I ever hear "crazy mad" again I will scream, 11 July 2013
Ok I'm going to be honest with this review, I know it will go against the grain of popular opinion but I was sorely disappointed. Lets view this entire trilogy for what it is and that's another 50 shades bandwagon book

A the end of book one I loved the cliffhanger and felt it had huge potential to take the story on a different line to that of FSOG. Then book 2 came out and I thought it was a let down. It was good at the beginning, good at the end but nothing happened in between apart from sex. Yawn.

So I was really hoping this would develop the characters, see their relationship evolve and take the story in a new direction.

But no.

This was really quite stupid in parts and if you haven't read it then stop reading my review here as I can't not comment on what so annoyed me about it.
The whole pregnancy storyline was drawn out, predictable and down right dull. All the dialogue just reminded of those stupid things people think about having children BEFORE they actually do and then realise that guess what, it's nothing like you imagined! The sex in book one was hot and the chemistry and chase between to 2 of them made it so. But sex when you're married, pregnant and bleeding after a threatened miscarriage is not. There were pages and pages around the middle that were just repetitive "your so hot" "you are mine" etc etc that I ended up skimming through as it had no bearing on the story. We heard all that in the last 2 books.

I also got irritated by the whole psycho ex (FSOG) issues with parents (FSOG) you must eat (FSOG) you're not safe to drive so I'll send my driver (FSOG) work colleague trying it on (FSOG) even the housekeeper was copied from it. Yawn yawn.

So for me, too repetitive, not enough story, too drawn out and too much of a blatant rip off. On the positive, there are a few funny one liners.

Oh my goodness, this was such an enormous let down.
Book one was an ok read, a bit predictable and shallow but an ok filler for a bit of romance.
This one is just awful, I had to pack it in half way through. Cheesy, drawn out and pathetic are the only words I can use to describe it. Take out all the sex and you've got writing for 12 year olds. No thanks. She should have concluded their story in one book in my opinion but such is the trend now to make everything a series and try and cash in.

I won't be wasting my money on anything else by this author.

3.0 out of 5 stars Average and predictable, 29 April 2013
Nothing too deep here......
Millionaire with commitment problem, yes
Single young female with a few issues, yes
Lots of sex....fall in love, yes
Break up.... Oh and there'll be a sequel, what a surprise.

An easy read, predictable romance. Will probably forget it in a day or 2.

Complete rubbish.

This is the first time I've read anything by this author, it will also be the last. It kept popping up as recommended for me on Amazon and the variable reviews put me off for ages, but stuck at home ill today I thought I'd give it a whirl. I was hoping for light hearted, sexy fun. What I got was trashy, unrealistic low rate porn mag stuff.
I've no idea who this would appeal to, I've binned it 25% in. I like sex in a book but it needs to be somewhat believable and between characters that are interesting and appealing.

Don't bother.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice little surprise, 19 Mar 2013
I usually don't make random book purchases but I did with this because 1) it was cheap, 2) had good reviews and 3) I like a love story, who doesn't? I was surprised by it, the cover is a little slushy but its contents are far better than I expected. It deals with the thorny issues of in laws. A great easy read. I'll definitely be buying some of her other books now.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bit of a struggle this one., 16 Mar 2013
I'll be generous and go for 2.5 stars. A bit too heavy on the descriptives, not enough depth to the characters. Overall a bit too dull for me.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, if a little predictable, 10 Mar 2013
You can file this book alongside several others you may know, Beautiful Disaster, Hopeless, Pushing the Limits, Thoughtless. By that I mean, teenager /high school / messed up / no one understands me/ falls in love oh it's not working but, oh, yes it does phew, happy ending that you always knew was coming if you're honest.
Not bad, nothing award winning here. Just another to add to the list.

Dull, bailed out at 45%, I just got so sick of Joy banging on about her friends death 18 years ago. Move on. Awful.

What a lovely surprise this book was, fairly short around 350 pages, I polished it off in a day. Its sunny and warm, well thought out and really easy to read. It reminded me a little of a Castaway with Tom Hanks merged with Lost. Loved it.
4.5 stars - only knocked off half a star as being so short I didn't get a chance to really love the characters but a great book. Highly recommended.

OH. MY. GOODNESS.
Amazing. Beautiful. Fantastic.

I have been absolutely captivated by this truly epic love story. I finished it late last night in a flood of tears, dreamt about it and will be thinking over it for a very long time.

This is a long book, longest I've read I think, 894 pages. But it gave the story room to grow, and it's starts well but gets better and better all the way along. At no point was I bored, there's so much happening. It's set in Russia over the Second World War and I've no doubt the deprivation and horror is fairly factual. Our hero and heroine are fantastically crafted characters that both grow and flourish and you cannot help but fall hopelessly in love with them and their beautiful love for each other. You feel their love, their pain and I defy any woman reading this not to adore Alexander, a true knight in shining armour. Not because he has money or flies a helicopter, but because he is strong, honourable and utterly gorgeous.

I can't say any more as I don't want to add any hint of a spoiler and my mind is still spinning from this. It's a true masterpiece of story telling and I encourage anyone who has a shred of romance in them to indulge in it. I wish I could give it ten stars.
