Bombo Caramel and Spices Rum 24% 70cl
Bombo Caramel and Spices Rum 24% 70cl

2.0 out of 5 stars Not rum!, 28 Dec 2013
This is very sweet caramel liqueur with a hint of banana flavouring. I couldn't detect anything reminiscent of rum and found it hard to drink due to the extreme sweetness.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great curls and easy to use but..., 4 April 2013
... You can't sleep in them! Not unless you're really drunk!! I'm going to get one of those hair dryer hoods so I can hopefully use it to dry the curls that way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just wonderful, 11 Feb 2013
The Ouroborus Cycle is a beautifully crafted story by my new favourite author!

It is set in the late 1800's and follows the fate of Babette Varanus, her family, her lover and her quest for knowledge and acceptance.

The story combines elements from so many different genres, it is at times adventurous, horrific, dramatic, supernatural and romantic. But never dull! The pace is terrific, which makes it hard to find a natural stopping point for eating, sleeping etc! I was in love with Babette and Korbinian from the end of the second chapter and couldn't stop reading till I knew their fate. Hence, the book was finished in one 7 hour sitting!

I would recommend this to anyone who loves a really well told adventure. I personally never read horror, romance or supernatural stories but none of these elements are overpowering or gratuitous in The Ouroborus Cycle. What really shines through is the compelling characters and plot line.

Enjoy - Just remember to take regular bathroom breaks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good! Surprisingly good fun, 1 Nov 2012
So, of those four children and their dog had really existed, what would they have become in later life?

I'm not sure why I bought the book - as a devoted fan of the five in childhood, I was expecting 'Five Fall Apart Together' to annoy me like the comic strip series did. However, I was wrong. Although the book is irreverent and silly in places, it's also strangely compelling; the flawed characters, all grown up, feel familiar and oddly accurate. The story, whilst containing strictly adult only themes, also contains the essence of the famous five books - once I started reading I couldnt put it down until the end. Which probably hasnt happened since I read the originals!

Ussher has been really clever with this book. It's a smart, funny, tongue in cheek nod to the children we loved so much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good solid fantasy read!, 30 Sep 2012
Rothman has created an exciting new world for lovers of the fantasy genre. Follow Ryan, his family, and the three hundred pound family cat into Trimoria! You won't regret it.
The book has a good pace, taking the modern day family quickly out of the world we know and into the realm of prophecies and magical powers. Recommended for all ages.

Naughty In Nice (Royal Spyness Mysteries)
Naughty In Nice (Royal Spyness Mysteries)

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read for dull British winters!, 11 Mar 2012
This time, Lady Georgiana's travels take her abroad to Nice - as seen in those gorgeous 1920's travel posters! She has the usual mix of fun and danger and is at risk of being swept of her feet!
A thoroughly enjoyable and genuinely puzzled-till-the-last-minute read. Looking forward to the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best series of them all, 11 Mar 2012
I am a House fan, so this was always going to be a good review, but I can confidently say that this is the best if the seven series available on dvd. There is a strong focus on humour and the whole format is refreshed by the arrival of some great new characters. As usual, we learn more about the main character and get to see how he responds to a number of different personalities in his work space.
Highly recommended for all House fans. If you're new to the series, I would try to watch series 1 first.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value, hours of fun, 24 Aug 2011

A great buy. This tree goes almost to the ceiling but the solid base makes it sturdy enough to cope with being stormed up and down! It has two hiding places to choose from, two dangly things to bat about, lots of sisal to scratch and a nice high perch to snooze on away from the ground level world.
Despite being huge, this fits neatly into the corner of my living room where the subtle colours blend in beautifully. It's a real talking point! Gatsby loves it. As a small kitten he wouldn't go more than half way up but at the ripe old age of 4 months he can reach the little platform at the top in two bounds! He loves to sleep up there surveying his kingdom!!
