The Manchester United Season Review DVD for the historic 2010/2011 season left United fans gasping at the poor quality coverage of winning the 19th title, I don't want to bad mouth MUTV as I watch it a lot, but the commentators should always be the correct match day commentators on season reviews.

Anyway, this DVD covers the 2011/2012, yes United had only the Community Shield to show for getting the record amount of points for 2nd place, the hurtful 2 minutes where we all though we were Champions only to have it snatched away were devastating. Right this DVD is broadcast with all correct camera angles from real highlights, so we see all the goals in the way it was seen on TV.

The commentators are Sky Sports for the Premier League, Carling Cup and Champions League, ESPN for FA Cup and Community Shield, Channel 5 for Europa League, no ITV commentating, maybe our lack of Champions League progression was the cause of this. Anyway no MUTV commentating.

This DVD avoids the 1-6 hammering to City, just has players talking about it whilst dodgy camera angles show all the goals. There are some good looks at Welbeck, De Gea and Rooney as they all had outstaning seasons. The best matches on the review are 3-2 v City (FA Cup & Community Shield), 8-2 v Arsenal, 3-1 v Chelsea, 3-1 v Tottenham, 3-3 v Chelsea, 4-4 v Everton.

Extras are 3 interviews, there are no pre-season friendlies (I wish they had these on extras like they used to), but the DVD is back to normal and i'm sure all United fans will agree. Enjoy.

2.0 out of 5 stars History making season, a disaster DVD to honour it, 15 Jun. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Wow, I thought I was going to be the first to point it out, but it seems a lot of people like me are over analytical when it comes to end of season DVD reviews.

I'm a big United fan, going to see them at Old Trafford it such an entertainment spectacle and the chance the see the greatness unfold live without replays, but watching them on TV is just as exciting, but this DVD I think was porly made, all the commentating was done by MUTV, which I watch, but Crerand and Stewart just don't make good commentating team, I like hearing Martin Tyler screaming a United goal, or a magical Champions League moment with Clive Tyldsley on the end of the microphone.

The other dissapointment about this DVD was lack of highlights, sure you saw all the goals but no replays, except for Rooney's overhead kick of course, the 2008/2009 DVD was over 2 hours long, and it kept you on your seat with the motion playing throughout that season even though you knew what happened, but this DVD was like pressing fast forward throughout, it was over with 1 hour 20 minutes I think, in a season with over 60 games played.

The annoying thing about United's goals was you never saw it hit the net as the camera quickly moved with the player and not with the ball and so many of United's goals, plus they were never seen in realtime like watching on TV,the camera was all over the place, good in movies, bad in sport.

But despite that at least it acknowledged the pre-season games with brief highlights, something that is missed on most DVD of United's, they do have some good extras but if you are a fanatic of MUTV, you have probably seen them about 10 times already.

But I will give it 2 stars, simply because of the history making season and the other star for being Manchester United, get in there number 19!

4.0 out of 5 stars The WWE entertains a record 70,000 Orlando fans!, 26 Feb. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
WWE Wrestlemania 24 comes to Orlando, Florida as 3 championship matches are booked. Also the Money in the Bank Ladder match takes place yet again, who will rise to take the briefcase? Also Ric Flair's 30+ year career ison the line as he squares off against Shawn Michaels. And it's the biggest vs. the best as Floyd Mayweather Jnr takes on The Big Show.

1. Belfast Brawl Match: JBL def. Finlay w/ Hornswoggle - 6/10

A pretty good contest to begin with, and a lot of weapons used in this match, Hornswoggle was used quite well in this match also, good first match.

2. Money In The Bank Ladder Match: CM Punk def. Carlito, Chris Jericho, John Morrison, M.V.P , Mr. Kennedy & Shelton Benjamin - 7/10

This was quite a good ladder match, not the best I have seen but all superstars gave it their all and with Jeff Hardy missing through suspension, an 8th superstar did interfere to cost someone the match.

3. Battle for Brand Supremacy Match: Batista (Smackdown) def. Umaga (Raw) - 6/10

This wasn't a great contest as both of these big men just used the power game on each other, not quite a classic match to remember, not one of Batista's greatest.

4. ECW Championship: Kane def. Chavo Guerrero (c) - 1/10

The most pointless ECW match at Wrestlemania as it didn't last 10 seconds, but well done to Kane on winning a big title.

5. Career Threatening Match: Shawn Michaels def. Ric Flair - 8/10

This was a very good match for the Nature Boy to bow out on and with HBK being his opponent you could tell this would be a classic. Flair used all the tricks in his book which was good to see. Ric Flair is a true legend.

6. Playboy Bunnymania Tag Team Lumberjill Match: Beth Phoenix & Melina def. Ashley & Maria - 5/10

Not the best WWE Diva match I have ever seen but it was mainly to get all the Diva's invovled I suppose. Snoop Dogg was at ringside for this contest.

7. WWE Championship: Triple Threat Match - Randy Orton (c) def. John Cena & Triple H - 7/10

A good triple threat match and with lots of good moments, and the man who nodbody thought would win, actually pulled it off, a good match for all 3 of these men.

8. Anything Goes Match: Floyd Mayweather Jnr def. The Big Show - 7/10

This was quite an entertaining mathc considering Mayweather not being a wrestler but both of these 2 men pulled off a decent match and despite Mayweather being a face, the crowd didn't follow along with that.

9. World Heavyweight Championship: The Undertaker def. Edge (c) - 8/10

This match was very good and well done to Edge for proving he can main event Wrestlemania, he definitely showed why he is one of the best and went the full way with the Undertaker. A good main event.

Extras include:

24 man battle royal - winner faces ECW Champion Chavo Guerrero
2008 Hall Of Fame ceremony - including The Rock!

Overall DVD Rating: 8/10

4.0 out of 5 stars Who will survive the Elimination Chamber?, 23 Feb. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Wwe: No Way Out - 2009 [DVD] (DVD)
The final stop before Wrestlemania 25 takes place is No Way Out, and this really is a real tagline as the superstars enter the Elimination Chamber to see who will be the champions before Wrestlemania. Also Shane McMahon seeks redemption against Randy Orton over his recent actions on Raw. Shawn Michaels attempts to get out of JBL's employment. There really is No Way Out!

1. WWE Championship: Elimination Chamber Match - Triple H def. Edge (c), Jeff Hardy, The Big Show, The Undertaker & Vladimir Kozlov - 8/10

This is a good start to the night, and a shocking elimination right at the beginning. The final 2 superstars were the biggest in the match and all 6 of these men put of a good match here to start the night off.

2. No Holds Barred Match: Randy Orton def. Shane McMahon - 8/10

This match is very good and Shane shows he can put on a good match even though he rarely wrestles. Plenty of action in this contest but the Viper claims another victim in the McMahon family.

3. ECW Championship: Jack Swagger (c) def. Finlay - 6/10

Another boring ECW title match involving Jack Swagger, and this is definitely one to forget.

4. All or Nothing Match: Shawn Michaels def. JBL

JBL comes close to keeping HBK's name and likeness but the Showstopper put an end to his misery and beats JBL and goes on to Wrestlemania!

5. World Heavyweight Championship: Elimination Chamber Match - Edge def. John Cena (c), Chris Jericho, Kane, Mike Knox & Rey Mysterio - 8/10

Another good Elimination Chamber match to end the show with Kofi Kingston getting attacked by Edge and then taking his place, the match started well and ended well with another shocking early elimination. A Smackdown superstar ends up winning the Raw World Heavyweight Championship.

Extras include:

Interview with winner of World Heavyweight Championship match
Unsanctioned Match: Randy Orton vs. Shane McMahon - Raw, 16th February

This is definitely a good PPV and along with Royal Rumble and Backlash are 3 great DVD's that are worth buying na dseeing how great Randy Orton really is.

4.0 out of 5 stars The road to Wrestlemania 25 begins here, 23 Feb. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
WWE Wrestlemania 25 is just around the corner, but before that happens the road needs to have superstars taking different paths, and one path is the Ropyal Rumble where 30 superstars aim to be the one who headlines Wrestlemania, and earns themselves a championship match of their choice. 4 championships are on the line as well.

1. ECW Championship: Jack Swagger (c) def. Matt Hardy - 6/10

Not the greatest contest I have ever seen, with Swagger easily finding a route to victory and retaining the championship.

2. WWE Women's Championship: Melina def. Beth Phoenix (c) w. Santino Marella - 5/10

I'm not a big fan of Diva's wrestling, and this match is one to forget, but not for Melina as she beats the Glamazon even with her "Partner" Santino at ringside.

3. World Heavyweight Championship: John Cena (c) def. JBL w/ Shawn Michaels - 7/10

With JBL promising HBK a place in the rumble should he win, HBK faced a dilemna on who he wanted to win, but in the end he didn't want either superstar to win but like always Cena found a way to win.

4. WWE Championship: No Disqualification Match - Edge def. Jeff Hardy (c) - 7/10

Quite a shocking ending to the match but also a shocking announcement at the beginning to change the match, but Jeff gets screwed out of his first major title reign and loses to the Rated R superstar.

5. 2009 Royal Rumble Match: Randy Orton last eliminates Triple H to win - 9/10

This main event saves this PPV as Legacy memebers last all the way to the final 4 along with Triple H but numbers didn't always prove a thing. The Undertaker puts in a good display, and also we see a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble, something that was too extreme for a match like that.

Extras include:

Interview with surprise entrant
The Randy Orton story - Raw 26th

This is a good PPV and starts 2009 off really well and the Randy Orton saga on Raw made this Rumble even more exciting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Orton's Legacy is cemented, 23 Feb. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: WWE - Backlash 2009 [DVD] (DVD)
After the 25th Anniversary of Wrestlemania took place, WWE Backlash came right round the corner with plenty of rematches for superstars to have a "backlash" and unfinished business will be settled as 3 championships are on the line. One of the Hardy Boys must say the words "I quit" and a WWE Hall of Famer steps back in the ring again to face off against Chris Jericho.

1. ECW Championship: Christian def. Jack Swagger - 6/10

A good opening contest with plenty of dominance from Swagger who utilises his mat wrestling skills, but one of his plans backfires as Chrisitan uses it to win the ECW Championship.

2. Chris Jericho def. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat - 6/10

Steamboat puts in an impressive performance here and comes up short as the brilliant mind of Jericho helps beat the WWE legend, who came so close to victory.

3. Kane def. CM Punk - 6/10

Fresh off his Money in the Bank win at Wrestlemania 25 CM Punk faces off against the man who he kicked off the ladder to win the match, Kane. The Big Red Machine puts in a dominant performance to beat the Straightedge Superstar.

4. "I Quit" Match: Jeff Hardy def. Matt Hardy - 7/10

Both these men put in a good match with plenty of weapons used to help eahc superstar gain an advantage, but Jeff uses all he can to make sure Matt said those humiliating words, after Matt tried reasoning with the Extreme Enigma.

5. WWE Championship: The Legacy (Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase) def. Triple H (c), Batista & Shane McMahon - 8/10

This match was very enjoyable on my account being as i'm a big Randy Orton fan, but all 6 of these men put in a good show and although their was a grudge in the middle of this against Orton, the Viper found a way to gain an upper hand and win his 3rd WWE Championship.

6. World Heavyweight Championship: Last Man Standing Match - Edge def. John Cena (c) - 9/10

I'm not a big fan of John Cena and this match proved he can put on a good performance. These men have had one of the best rivalries in the WWE and it all ended here as Edge won but it wasn't all his own doing to win back his World Heavyweight Championship.

Extras include:

Aftermath of the WWE Championship

This PPV is one of the best from 2009 and although there was no Shawn Michaels or The Undertaker, the rest of the superstars made it one to remember.

The first line of this song made this an instant classic for Oasis, off the album "Definitely Maybe" this has been a fan favourite for many years and they included this song on their setlist right up to 2009. One of their best songs ever made. The CD includes:

1. Cigarettes & Alcohol
2. I Am The Walrus (Live at Glasgow Cathouse June '94)
3. Listen Up
4. Fade Away

The 4 songs on this CD are awesome and The Beatles cover is a amazing, Listen Up is one of my favourite tracks still. A must own for Oasis fans.

Oasis were becoming more known around the world and the album "(What's The Story) Morning Glory?" did their reputation no harm as it came with plenty of catchy songs that people still sing today. Some Might Say is Oasis' first number 1 and the CD includes:

1. Some Might Say
2. Talk Tonight
3. Acquiesce
4. Headshrinker

This CD has 4 great songs, and the 3 follow ups to Some Might Say should of been singles themselves. A good CD

17th December, 1989, The Simpsons family hit TV screens, and have become one of the most famous families in the world. Season 1 is one of my personal favourites, as I believe the old seasons are much better then the new seasons. There are 13 classic episodes, packed with extras including the short on the Tracy Ullman show, that got them on TV. The episodes include:

1. Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire: No money for presents means Homer results to greyhound racing, ending with a loving present for the family to share.
(Notes) Patty, Selma, Ned & Todd Flanders, Santa's Little Helper introduced.

2. Bart The Genius: Bart swaps tests with Martin, and ends up in a school for genius, thus gaining love and respect from Homer, will Bart reveal the lie?

3. Homer's Odyssey: Homer gets fired from his job and sets out to make Springfield a healthy and safe environment.
(Notes) Montgomery Burns and Smithers introduced.

4. There's No Disgrace Like Home: After judging his family at a work BBQ, Homer decdes the family needs therapy.
(Notes) First scenes of Itchy and Scratchy.

5. Bart The General: Bart gets help from Granpa to even the score with his bully, Nelson.
(Notes) Grampa Simpson is introduced.

6. Moaning Lisa: Lisa is sad and is befriended by "Bleeding Gums" Murphy who they both share a similar musical hobby.

7. Call Of The Simpsons: Homer buys an RV to show off to Flanders, but their holiday ends in a mess and The Simpsons must meet with nature itself.
(Notes) Guest voice - Albert Brooks.

8. The Telltale Head: Bart Simpson, confesses about how he took the head of Springfield's loved founder to gain friends.
(Notes)Krusty and Sideshow Bob cameo, Rev. Lovejoy introduced.

9. Life On The Fast Lane: Homer's selfish ways gets Marge a birthday present, that was meant for him, a bowling ball. S Marge taks up bowing and meets a French trainer, who wants more then to teach Marge how to strike.
(Notes) Helen Lovejoy introduced, Guest voice - Albert Brooks.

10. Homer's Night Out: A stag due, ends with Homer bellydancing with another woman, caught on camera by Bart who gives it out to everyone, ending in Marge's hands.
(Notes) Guest voice - Sam McMurray.

11. The Crepes Of Wrath: The school has a foreign exchange, and Bart goes to France and istreated like a slave, whilst an Albania boy contains a secret when giving and recieving love from Homer.

12. Krusty Gets Busted: Krusty The Clown is arrested, but one erson wants to prove is innocence, Bart.
(Notes) Guest voice - Kelsey Grammer.

13. Some Enchanted Evening: Homer and Marge make up their marriage with a night out, and leave a babysitter with the children, but they do not know, that she is the Babysitter Bandit.

Overall this season is a very good one, and set The Simpsons up with more fame and glory.

5.0 out of 5 stars Manchester United 2008/2009 Season Review, 12 July 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It's been a while since Manchester United had a quiet season, and the year 2008 saw Manchester United topped off as World Club Champions. New players such as Dimitar Berbatov added to a host of magnificent Manchester United players, as Crisitano Ronaldo stayed on after specualtion in the summer of a move to Real Madrid, score his 100th goal

Edwin Van Der Sar and the United defence set new defensive records, holding out 14 consecutive clean sheets. United also thrashed Chelsea at Old Trafford, and got revenge by doing the double over Man City.

New blood came through as United's youngsters helped reach and win the 2009 Carling Cup, and the depth of the squad managed to retain the Premier League trophy for a 3rd time, twice in their history.

The Champions League campaign saw United do the undone by beating FC Porto on their own turf, which no English club has done before. Also United destroyed Arsenal over 2 legs to reach the final. But retaining the Champions League remained football hardest accomplishment, as Barcelona proved to be a step too far to overhaul, as United lost out in the final.

But otherwise, the 2008/2009 season saw great games such as Aston Villa and Tottenham Hostpur at Old Trafford, and creating news stars, this was a truly great season.

Extras include Premier League trophy celebrations. A great DVD.
