2.0 out of 5 stars great production but disappointing, 22 Oct 2013

Firstly I would like to point out that I am a lifelong def leppard fan and they will forever be my favourite band, I first discovered the band aged 8 and have followed and supported them ever since (im now 31), so please be assured this an honest review. The production of this blu ray is brilliant....the picture is super sharp and the sound is pure and clear. My big problem with this concert is its lifeless....theres barely any crowd noise, the guitar sounds are so clean....they lack punch, the drums sound like a machine(I know there electronic but even so...),phil collen has a tendancy to put lead guitars where there not needed and some of joes banter with the crowd is cringe worthy. To me this blu ray has the look of a def leppard video set to a live soundtrack as opposed to being a live energy packed concert. In the round in your face is a far superior concert and is the reason def leppard are such a great great band...great, raw and energy packed concert. Some of the vocal effects on dont shoot shotgun and excitable are horrific. The intro section to the disc recycles footage from visualize and is pretty pointless. The most upsetting thing for me is the complete lack of acknowledgement for steve clark....the intro to gods of war from in the round is shown but that it. The disc is dedicated to random people but not steve, not one member thanks steve in there notes (surely they all owe him something as he contributed to 95% of the material on offer). I hope people buy this blu ray and enjoy it as def leppard are a wonderful band and are the soundtrack to my life, but from a personal point of view i feel disappoint and wont be choosing this over in the round in your face. I wish they would release lost footage of steve as he ( in my opinion) is what made def leppard so great and he should be remembered as a truly unique gifted guitarist .

Ps why the frig is the re recorded version of hysteria played on the bonus menu????? It sounds so unbelievably awful

5.0 out of 5 stars no surprises......straight forward rock n roll, 16 Jun 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Firstly.......a tenner for a 2cd set, containing the album, bonus tracks and a live cd.......absolute bargain!!
Secondly...and more importantly!! A very good rock album, lots of riffs and singalong melodies. the album is fun and unashameably packed with innuendos. Lead single Live it up is one of the stand out tracks on an album that doesn't stop rocking from start to finish....Back in the game will surely be the second single!!

Its easy to draw refernces between Airbourne and AC/DC but that's never going to be a bad thing!! all you need to remember is that both bands DONT DO soft songs!! if you like your rock hard, fast and fun get ordering and I guarantee you wont be disappointed!!

PLAY IT LOUD

5.0 out of 5 stars spell binding, 9 Mar 2013

There are few words,if any, that i can add to the other reviews....but here's goes!! Regardless of your tastes in music, you have to see this film. Jason becker is a extraordinary human being blessed with an unbelievable talent, driven by a desire to develop his technique, focused on making his dreams come true...struck down by a devastating terminal illness. This film doesn't wallow in self pity,of how jason should be considered a great,it just enhances his reputation as a truly unique human being and musician. The fact he continues to create music defies belief and the love of those close to him emphasises what love can do!! This film highlights that life can be an absolute bastard to people who dont deserve it....but even when this happens, hope never dies!! A very touching documentary that not only drags you in but will also leave you blown away. This is a must see film
