Very well researched. Shocking, informative and enjoyable., 26 Oct 2013
The book is very well researched and encourages the reader to look for even more information around the subject. It is entertaining as well as informative. The only minor criticism I would level is that 80% of the book covers the first year of Dodds' tenure whilst the other years are skimmed over in the remaining pages. To read about how the changes in Germany during the period are viewed through the eyes of people who were there reveals how the creeping evil of Nazism managed to inveigle itself into a society of otherwise rational people.
